Despite your age and NCB, with two recent claims, that's probably about right. With two claims so close together, they'll have classed you as high risk. That said, regular insurance companies arent that keen on modifications despite thing like remaps becoming common place. You can either bite the bullet and pay-up or wait until renewal time then switch to specialist insurer who hopefully will be a tad cheaper.

Try Greenlight Insurance - they weren't bothered about my Superchips remap on my Edition 30 .... and were cheaper than Elephant for me by £3 anyway (+elephant wouldn't even cover the mod!)

FWIW I am in London, 43 years old, max NCB though = £497

Greenlight, just switched to them and they said any mods could be added with no impact on the current premium apart from a possible £25 admin charge and as previously said all mods are covered like for like in the event of a claim!

Greenlight Ive used before  :happy2: but can refuse based on postcode!
So now Im with Chris Knott who were great  :happy2:
The 2 claims kill you , but I still reckon one of the above could knock off 20% from the premium you currently have.
I too I'm surprised how much insurance is despite by age (37) and NCB (7 yrs).
Good Luck  :happy2:

on & off now and then.

keep it in the car at all times if need to revert to standard.

Guess if I have a "Big one" and unable to convert back I probably wont be coming back either!

All my miles are local & very few of them.

Would convert back to standard if did a europe holiday etc.

My insurance is due for renewal in May, so I'll be on the lookout soon. £585 last year with Adrian Flux with all mods declared and like for like replacement, with only £150 excess. I'll be looking to get near that again if possible. I didn't try Greenlight last year but will be giving them a bell in the near future.

Greenlight and Adrian Flux are sister companies so its hard to play 1 against the other

Switched to Greenlight yesterday.

I'm 45, live in Southampton with car on the driveway overnight and have max NCD.

With Bluefin and ITG filter declared their premium for my Ed30 is £497 with £200 XS.

Dealing with them so far has been very good.

I've ended up paying £530. Original renewal was for £602. 3 phone calls later and wiped £70 off the total and £50 off the excess which is now £200. All modifications declared (took me nearly 15 minutes to list them all!), including two which are being done shortly

My insurance is due up towards the end of the month and I have just got my renewal quote through from the company I insured my Impreza with last year (changed in July).  £799!!! for a standard GTI....I think my jaw hit the floor!  And the cheeky sh*ts put down that I had made a claim in January, when the bus hit my car.  I never told my insurance company because I claimed of the bus company but the company I used checked to make sure I was insured.  What a bunch of ****s!

Been to compare.com for a laugh and got £657 for a modified car and £525 from Adrian Flux.  Just waiting on Greenlight now, hoping for a good quote.

I have to think about things carefully. I'm moving in a few months to a higher-risk area (no idea where!) and the car needs to be modded at some point. Insurance renewel is within the next month I believe.
