Was talking to mates last night and we have finally agreed this year were going to make the trip to the Nurburgring. Theres 5 of us going so far but none of us have been before.
Has anyone on here been before? Whats involved and what were the rough costs? Whens the best time to go?
Were 100% on going but need to get it planned and money put aside asap
Cheers guys and girls

About 4 hours from Calais, hotels are about same as here, I like Linder although controversial :signLOL: booking.com do it cheap, food is quite expensive and laps are about 20 each I think, 600 quid for a weekend but I'm coming from Leeds, as for when you wanna to go, if you want to set some times you want a Sunday evening as all locals going back to work monday and Brits tend to go Sundays, if it's your first time I would go bang in middle of hols, soak up the atmosphere and the sun :happy2:

Where about do you live mate?
I've been loads, I live in Liverpool so we always do the Hull - Rotterdam overnight ferry. Easier on the driving and the ferry is a properly good laugh!
The boat is about £280 for a car and 2 people. Then fuel depends on the laps you do etc. Its roughly 250 miles from Rotterdam to the ring.
There is loads of hotels, normally about 40 Euro a night, we got a lovely chalet last year though by the new test centre which worked out fairly cheap! Then your laps and spends, think laps are upto 27 Euro a lap now!
One of the BEST trips you will ever do though mate! It's a petrol heads paradise. :notworthy:

I take it your talking about personal travel insurance. :signLOL:
you wont get your car insured for the Nurburgring unless you have a lot of money. :popcornsoda:

Define careful = don't crash! :xmassmiley:
My advice is always check the Touristfahren days and then even these can change as companies book them. Normally you'll be clear of snow by April. Plenty of places to stop too - Hotel Burgstube is popular.

....Brand new tyres aren't such a good idea on track. Best to have a little wear on them but obviously not too much!
What car, and therefore what brakes are you taking?
If you have never driven a trackday before, don't forget NOT to put on the handbrake when you park up after a lap - It'll bugger your discs.
-
look in the track days section below this. Each year there is a forum ring trip. I'm going next May if we can all organise it with a few others.
