Hi everyone, just wonder if you can shine any light on the performance of the aircon for demisting the front screen in this cold weather?
In my car it takes several minutes, whereas in previous cars they cleared the screen almost instantly.
At the last service the stealer said it was due an aircon service (car is 3yrs old).
Is it likely to need a service & regassing? I had my last car for 5 1/2yrs and other than pollen filters the HVAC wasn't touched.
Grateful for any advice!

I can't answered your question as I removed my aircon (because I'm mental)
But...
There's a heated screen upgrade group buy currently on the forum you might be interested in

If we can get the screen through the windscreen insurance xs then I would be!

The aircon compressor doesn't engage below 3-4 deg c as a safety measure to protect it in in icy conditions, this may be your problem

Well I dropped the pollen filter out today and it was filthy. :surprised:
Replacement fitted, so I will see if this improves the demisting performance.

I think mine had been ignored on the last 2 services and was also dirrrrrrty :fighting:

Mine had a date of manufacture of 2006 and seeing as the car is a 2007 I reckon it has never been changed, despite FVWSH!
Will see how we go

Another tip is to purchase some car glass polish and polish the inside of your windscreen. This will remove all the crap from the screen so the moisture has nothing to 'cling' to. :happy2:
