I had been at Jim to get the WALK kit in for a while and he said there was MK5 coming in getting the KW3 and walk.
The KW3 is pretty hard core from the write ups i have seen.

Wasnt being funny about the pic, its just you never know whos lurking on the forum and if they turn round and say which private track and then check the logs for that track etc etc. Dont want to shoot yourself in the foot now and end up banned like moi

cheers again guys.

I dont work for VOSA, work as a lecturer covering automotive engineering. VOSA use part of the college for there training and get there own parking that i park in to piss them off .

going to keep it the spoiler naked. i drive the car pretty hard and feel it would be chipped to bits painted.

Keith from what i here the walk kit is top notch and jim seemed quite interested in fitting it to his car as well. the coilovers doseem pretty extreme but can be adjusted for that small bit of comfort.

scotty, very true.. the car is clean for once and no this time i didnt use the head and shoulders on this time!!!!

Good morning folks. Ok, got the KWv3's, Eibach rollbars and walk kit fitted. All i can say is YIPEE. Thought these cars handled well standard, but now with this fitted they rock. covered around 500 miles of A and B roads between saturday and sunday learning the car again and found it hard to get it out badly out of shape. It takes whatever you put its way. Its a costly mod but worth every penny.
I will get some pics this week me thinks.
Thanks for the advice given by you guys on here with regards to what was best to fit.

Bit of an update on the car. suspension is on along with carbonio induction kit (thanks to HURDY). Non res Milly going on at the weekend and stg2map during the week. also high level brake light is getting done  :scared: which im hoping turns out ok as poor paint work really messes with my head. After all this im going to get the car in and give it a real good clean up so will post some pics then.

this forum maybe free in some ways but in others costs you a fortune  :rolleye: :notworthy:.
If the other half finds out im using money from the wedding fund there will be alot of parts going up for sale and that will just be for my coffin   :innocent:

^^ That is definately the VWR splitter mate, I think it is made by Rieger  :happy2: ^^

....My understanding is that the VWR splitter is made out of stronger material than the Rieger (ask Joe!). Extremely similar appearance though.

Black splitter on a black car means you don't need to paint it but if you preferred to it wouldn't matter about stone chips because it's a plastic.

Any tyre rubbing?
Title: Re: Iainalpine's project - new pics added

No tyre rubbing at all Robin, even when the car is fully loaded and its sitting on its A#s.

A few people have said the VWR splitter is made from stronger material, would be good to see them together.

the VWR one is stronger, also confirmed by mark @ VWR. ive snapped 2 of mine.  :sad1:

Black splitter on a black car can be painted but it has to be primed first and this makes stone chips very visible!! trust ive done it!

Its coming together well. FMIC should be here tomorow so will get that fitted on saturday. Next on the list has got to be the HPFP and also big brake setup.
Have been looking into the upgrade for the PCV. Still unsure on what to do with this one.
Also got a new votex splitter and bumper. waiting on the new open grills etc to come in for that.

Track season next year will be good fun me thinks

Have been looking into the upgrade for the PCV. Still unsure on what to do with this one.

....I'm the same. I think it's between BHS and Forge. Am thinking of starting a specific thread on the subject.....Job # 432!

Looks nice, i liiike!

One question, how come the mk5 in a few pics of people's cars, seems to sit lower at the back than the front, surely ud want it the opposite way.

the pic of the mk4 for example, just seems to have its nose in the air slightly n looks a bit odd!? is that just the way golfs are? wouldnt it look/handle better with either the same height each end or lower at the front n higher at the back?!

or of course it could all be an illusion n im actually talking sh!te! haha

You have good eyes on you STRAT. The pics i have posted so far have been taken when i have had some DJ stuff in the boot so the front has been sitting slightly up. When empty, sits nice and level

Robin, think it would be good to start a new thread on the PCV topic as i think for many of us this may become an issue later on down the line if it was left as it is.

Will try and get some pics with nothing in the boot. God dam DJing to much these days but it pays for the mods  :jumpmove:

Iain  VWR are bringing out a new fast road brake kit soon, that is a more realistic price. Havn't got a clue how it performs, but they have recognized that most ordinary folks cant afford there kit that is currently available.  :happy2:

Snapey, will get some pics put up asap. None taken at the mo but will get it sorted out.

TC, thats good to here. Had 6 pot AP's on the impreza and they rocked but were quite a few bucks. Interesting to see what they come up with. Im now starting to see the limits of the standard brakes when driving that wee bit harder.

Im heading to the cotswolds in september and was wondering about heading over to REVO to get the car logged and setup. Do these guys have a rolling road?

I think they have one right by them they use, but they have new premises now so maybe they have there own.   :happy2:

And for Snapey here is mine with the IC in View. I was a bit worried how it would look through the grill, but ended up pleased.
