Running my first tank of V Power, and I can feel a difference in acceleration.
This might be psychological, but it feels quicker. Anyone else feel the same?
:driver:
-
Decembers 4th petrol thread? :tree:
-
placebo. your car needs 2 or 3 tanks minimum to respond to the difference
-
I notice zero difference when I use Shell V Power or Shell ordinary, however the computer shows a minor change in MPG (minor being 0.2-0.3mpg)
-
Shell says :happy2:
Utter nonsense
-
It's all about Tesco 99
-
Higher quality fuel = better preformance = better mpg =

When i first got my ED30 i used several tanks of v-power. When i was running low 1 morning with no shell stations nearby i stuck in £30 of Asdas offering and within a couple of miles the computer showed the mpg had dropped by 2mpg :surprised:
I went back to v power on the next fill up and the mpg went back up.
Today i stuck in £40 worth (1/2 tank) of Tesco momentum to see how that does (station is closer than shell)

I've run a mix of 99ron vs 95ron for the last few months (due to availability of 99) and I can report that what i have for breakfast affects the mpg more than the fuel in the tank. Slight change in performance is noticeable though when pressing on.

Interesting view, anything science backing your opinion or just your view?

+1
So are you disputing the results of a number of rolling road tests which show a clear power increase when using fuels like V-Power?
Here for example: http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuning/Fuel_Test_Results_Update.shtml
Or even the much maligned Fifth Gear tests?

PS: If you can actually prove to me you work for Shell I will change my name by Deed Poll to 'Macho Man Randy Savage' :indifferent:
-
@Wolf Burger...... we are all still waiting for your answer....

I was advised by the guys who remapped my car last year to run Shell VPower and have done so ever since.
I have heard some peeps dropping HP when they have changed to a lesser fuel although i cant confirm this.

So you have worked for shell since 1997 as a cleaner or till assistant , as you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Please provide some more info to prove us wrong. Do you suggest I run my car on 95ron instead?
