My headlights are cloudy at the top of the lenses, and seem slightly scatched in this area too.
Got this kit for Chrimbo, so I'm going to use it tomorrow, as long as it's not raining!
I'll take before, during and after pics so you guys can see how good it is (or not!)
-
looking forward to this

My Father-in-Law got it for me. I'll ask him tomorrow and let you know :happy2:

Thanks :happy2:

Had a quick go with this this morning. I spent 15 minutes on each lens, and I'm really pleased with the results. Still a bit to do, but most of the greeny haze has gone already.

Your image code is wrong...

looking forward to this
See above Rob. Pretty pleased with initial results.
-
my lenses look dusty from the inside :S can you shed any light on this problem (no pun intended) lol :D
do you think this kit will take small stone chips out too?
thanks

Dusty from the inside? Are you sure this isn't some sort of hazing that is actuallly on the outside? Do they feel rough or matt to the touch? I'd give them a thorough clean and then take a look under a magnifying glass.
Stonechips. Mine had some minor stone chips, and these have been reduced in size already, and are less obvious. I guess it depends how deep they are as to whether you can lose them completely.

I did mine yesterday while doing a paint detail on my car
I used the DA with a medium (orange) foam pad and Merenza compound followed by a qualty sealant - results look the same as yours :happy2:

I'm glad we've found 2 good solutions to the problem then. They look horrible with that mouldy looking haze on them

I have finished this now, and I'm amazed at how good the finish is. They look incredibly good. Not quite brand new, but a million miles away from how bad they were. I mean, I was considering replacing them they were so bad.
I'll find out where my father-in-law got it from and post it, but it's a thumbs-up from me!

I think its megs kit code G1900
-
Anyone else tried this on a golf? I'm thinking of using it on mine
-
On my to do list. They sell the meguires kit from Halfords for about £20. Think you just use a drill with it.
-
If this is the kit that is just a drill buffer and Plast RX liquid, then its rubbish. Didnt do a thing to my headlights! I wet sanded them instead and they came up lovely. They do need doing again now though and I might try the 3M headlight restoration kit this time. People on here have said good things about it.
-
Good to know cheers bud
-
I decided to give it a go anyway as couldn't find the 3M kit anywhere locally. Picked this up for £20 and it seems to have done an OK job. I think you'd need to spend more time to get a 100% perfect finish but for a first attempt I'm pretty happy with the result

Looks loads better mate. Worth it for the cash

^^^^ Good to see you got some results. Maybe mine were too far gone for this kit to do any good. All I would say is that the very slight improvement I did get actually didn't last very long. About a week or so later it was back to how it was before.
