Help!
I tried to fit my new accelerator pedal today, got it free of the floor ok but the electrical connector was proving awkward to disconnect and now the little grey 'clip' has broken off.
Any ideas would be great!
Thanks!

Is the connector still on or did you manage to get it off? If the clip breaks then get a little pick in behind it to release the tab that holds the connector to the pedal.
Have you got any pics of the bit that's broken off?

Thanks for replying,
I don't have a picture but its the 'moveable' bit a bit like a button? and no I didn't get the connector off. I left whilst I cooled off and cursed my ineptitude.
Not sure what you mean by a 'pick'?
Thanks!
I've found this http://jettagolf.blogspot.com/2009/04/how-to-replace-gas-pedal.html (http://jettagolf.blogspot.com/2009/04/how-to-replace-gas-pedal.html)
So I'm going to try taking the side piece off next.

Step number four in the link sort of explains how to get the plug off if it breaks. This is the pick I use (2nd in from the left):

Thanks again,
I don't have a pick but I might have something similar.
Cheers!

As above if you can get a small screwdriver or something behind the lug it will slide off.
Don't break the lug off or it won't secure back on properly. Best with a torch and some patience.

Righto! thannks, I'll give it a go!

WooHoo!
Done it.
If you are going to have a go, remove the side piece of the pedal before trying to remove the plug. It makes it so much easier.
Thanks chaps.
