on revo stock

not sure they are related tbh but Im no expert
Whats the time and date on both as you were running REVO mapped , got a CEL (which would have been stored) , then you dropped to stock REVO settings , then got the CEL again.

Ist one is common and may just be from excessive boost settings in REVO
2nd looks like something a dealer would fix and something needs replaced. (if it is remapped related REVO will know)

Ask REVO for their opinion
clear  codes , run in stock mode , thrash it and see if you get 1 or 2 again. suspect you may just get no2

the CEL light stuck on with REVO settings, so dropped to stock to make sure all ok...

I guess theres nothing i can do but clear them and see if it happends again on stock. then on revo.

I could have had the boost too high...

that's the thing, if you set the boost to like 7 or 8, with a stock fuel pump, it may cause those faults, but i ain't no expert either!!

did you change the timing / fuel numbers too when you played with the boost level??

nah b8 t5 f9.. carl said should b ok, but weather has got warmer now for boost

you upped the boost to 8, but didn't change the fuel to lower number (makes it run richer as 9 is leanest / most economical setting)

that might have been the problem then!

surprised carl said it was ok.

I remember AmD telling me that if i upped the boost, i'll need to reduce the Fuel number to increase fuelling.

carl said standard pump couldnt provide more..?
Title: Re: my error codes
Post by: chungster on April 18, 2009, 02:17:19 pm
its not about providing more...

upping boost number doesn't increase boost per se (psi / bar), it makes the boost come on a bit more aggressively i think. so you change the Fuel number to make fuel supply match the way boost is now delivered.

but then Carl should know whats ok and what not so maybe i'm talking gibberish lol.

not sure about the other 2 codes re short circuit? very strange!

Mine's set at B6 T5 F9 and I've not changed it since.

Steve , its stabbing in the dark without some info, it could be the same codes or different !
Did it trigger any when running in stock mode??

How about asking on other VAG forums (briskoda/seat/golfgti etc) for a local VCDS helpful owner?
Other option is to just negotiate with a local dealer on a reasonable price to review and print out the code/s (painful)
or even get on the group buy (on this forum) and buy one?
