Before i upload my standard Map to super chips, is it advisable to ring them and tell them my car is a DSG or is it the same map for both manual and DSG.
Thanks in advance :happy2:
-
I think the dsg gets a different map.
PM Saint Steve as he has bluefin on his dsg ed30.
-
I had the problem on my Ed30. If they send you a manual map the throttle becomes really sensitive and it misses like a French soldier.
If you are concerned by all means ring them but they should be able to tell from your original map and VIN.
-
when you register the software it should have boxes to fill in with the car details etc
-
Yeah when you register fill in your car details and I'm sure you fill out a box marked transmission.

Cheers guys! Happy new year :happy2:

Installed bluefin, been running for a couple of weeks now. WOW what a difference! Can you guys recommend the best spark plugs to be using with a stage 1, I won't be going any higher than this.
-
OEM.

Hi Folks, sorry to hijack this thread somewhat but are you suggesting that i should also have had my spark-plugs changed when i uploaded my Bluefin Stage 1? I have standard Mk V GTi (2005)?
Many thanks
Andrew

no, the previous reply advised standard spark plugs are fine
-
Ahh, ok, cheers...
On a related theme, although might need to post this somewhere else, VW have advised me that my 'turbo' appears to be blowing a bit and is slightly noisier than it should be, should this be cause for concern? I mean, if the turbo goes, should i just get a standard turbo replacement or is there a 'World of Wonderful Turbos' out there, not with VW? I have already spent a lot of money over past 18mths, had steering rack replaced, as well as wheel bearings replaced, etc, etc, so trying to ascertain if i should carry on and remod, or cut my losses whilst i still can!?
Cheers
Andrew

if the turbo goes, it may take other items with it, id get a indy near you to take a look, i it is on its way other, either buy a 2nd hand one or take yours and send it off for refurbishment. imo the 2 cheapest options
-
Cheers, might try that if and when it goes!? Can i ask though what companies in the UK fit new fancy turbos to Mk V's (if you know of course), ie. they actually replace the turbo with one of theirs, with extras??
Many thanks

well apart from the k04 which is the turbo found in the edition 30, you have garratt turbos. Turbo kits can be found from the likes of apr, revo and loads others that i cant remember now. turbo dynamics sell and service turbos too
