Title: Can't decide which Ed30 to get
Post by: dan930 on January 01, 2012, 01:27:32 pm
what would you do...really can't decide...buy the ed30 one owner car with 68k on the clock for 10grand inc 6mth tax or spend an extra 2.5k and get a ed30 3owner car with 39k on the clock(needs new front tyres)inc 4mth tax ...both dsg with fvwsh...planning to keep the car for at least a  mininium of 2-3years & I do around 20000 miles a year....

Have you seen the 3 owner car? What sort of condition is it in?

With both I'd be checking the service history carefully.

All service history is good on both cars...

That's a tough one... But doing those miles I'd buy a daily with the 2.5k, buy cheaper one... Normally 1 owner is better than 3 owners, but it would have had 3 enthusiastic injections from each new owner...(hopefully!) as long as full vwsh then hopefully both been well looked over...  Look at miles between services... Matching tyres... Door dents... Fag burns... These kinda stuff gives away if been looked after... But think how long you gonna keep too, car will be harder to sell with 100+k miles... And see which seller will move most on price... ;-)

seller with 68k is throwing in 6mth tax,& the other guy with 39k is only knocking £100 off the price

If you can afford it mate id rather have the one with less milage, since the service history is there on both. Id buy on condition with them though since tge price gap is pretty big !

The 68k one has probably had the cam belt done too, whereas if the 39k one hasn't it will need doing soon. Budget about £400 for the cam belt and water pump.

View both cars first, condition matters more than mileage and owners IMO.

If I was u tho, I'd be looking for one with a high spec such as Nav, Xenons, highline display & ideally DSG. For a car like that I'd pay a bit more. Candy white would be cool for an ED30
