My GTI has developed a sound like its got a G charger.
I'm sure that it's not a wheel bearing or something as the car is an 07 plate and has just been through a service, where they found a stone stuck in one of the calipers, removed it and cleaned the disc, which may have something to do with it.
The noise doesn't go away when the car has warmed up and increases and decreases with engine revs. The timing belt is due a change, but could it make a noise like this if it's in need of changing?
Anyone experience anything like this,or any ideas before I take it to the garage?

Sounds like a tight belt

Sounds like the turbo to me...

:scared: What?
Can you elaborate?

Or could just be your PCV.

Thanks for the replies, although the turbo comment worries me..... :surprised:
It's just an annoying drone thats always there, but unlike a wheel bearing,it tends to rise and lall with engine revs.Might just be an exhaust noise I've not noticed before, but I'll still get it checked out.
Cheers! :happy2:
