Gutted for you  , Hope you weren't hurt
-
Oh cock. :sad1:
-
Ouch. Feel for you there mate. My car was reversed into recently in a car park but that is far worse than mine. :sad1: :sad1:
I hope you and any passengers are all ok. Is the other driver accepting responsibility
-
Holy s***
Hope you get it sorted.

yeah i am fine just a little bruising to my ribs and a stiff neck.
to be honest its not really anyones fault we were at a cross roads and the traffic lights were out.
i looked left and looked right and decided to go but as i went i turned round and had a lorry about to hit into the side of my driver door.
so i dont really know who will be put to blame
-
Dunno with that one. Not sure if you could blame the council or whoever maintains the lights.
Hope you feel better in a few days. I know it's hard but the main thing is your ok. Car can be fixed/replaced. :happy2:
-
Holly Sh*t m8 that looks well sore, could off been a lot worse had it nailed your drivers door square on, annoying as it is its only a car,it can be fixed, you cant glad your ok. Speak to the council who own the stretch of road that you were on,as they need to provide the contractors with a permit to work on the road,so you will hopefully find out that way who are responcible for the lights.i censerly hope it works out ok for you and the cars not written off
Regards
Dougie :happy2:
-
Wow. That looks horrendous. At least you're alive and well.
to be honest its not really anyones fault we were at a cross roads and the traffic lights were out.
I had a near miss in similar circumstances. On approach to a major roundabout, I came up the slip road off a dual carriageway. Thought the lights were green and carried onto the roundabout. Car came shooting from the right. Hit the brakes and the BMW driver carried on past. Looked at the lights and they were blank! The entire roundabout had come to a stop because of blank lights. No one dared move.
-
Sorry to hear that, hope you are ok.
-
As long as your ok
-
Sorry for your car, but what a relief you're ok. That sounds like it could have been a lot worse.
As other's have said it's only a car that can be repaired or replaced.
-
Sorry to hear about this. I was nearly wiped out by an HGV about 8 years ago, going round a roundabout just off the M1. He removed the rear wheel of the mk4 Golf I had at the time with his fully-laden truck and tried to push me round a roundabout in front of him. My car looked as though someone had had a giant tin-opener on it! It's not nice when it happens and can make you very wary of traffic when you next go driving (which isn't a bad thing with the numpties that are about these days!).
Anyway, the car was eventually fixed with its new back end after about 6 months (!) and you soon forget about it all. The main thing is to get to your doctors this morning and get yourself checked out properly - you'll probably be aching more in the next day or so. Whiplash can be a pain in the neck. (sorry - terrible joke!).
As others have said, it makes you realise that your car, even though we all love them on here, is only a lump of metal and plastic and can easily be mended/replaced. We are flesh and bones and even with the wonders of modern medical techniques, there is still a limit to what we can fix. :happy2:
Hope it's only bruises, etc and that you get it all sorted out without too much further stress.
Best wishes
Paul.

Gutted mate!
-
Hope you get it sorted mate :(
-
Gutted for you,
Hate it when people say "its only a bit of metal" knowing how much i would be gutted if it happened to me but as long as your OK thats what really matters.
-
bad luck dude :sad1:
testimony to the strength of the car for a front quarter impact although the same cant be said for your alloy though
-
thanks for all the comments, main thing is me and the passenger are safe. going to the doctors today to get checked out to make sure theres no internal damage. yeah the car took the impact pretty well although the alloy took a bit of a battering as it was the first point of impact lol guess al be needing new wheels, good excuse to buy some
-
Wow! Looks like quite an impact.
Glad your ok.
I would be gutted to see my 'pride and joy' in that state.
-
That's bad luck,on the flip side tho you have walked away a little sore but able to fight another day.....
It could have been a lot worse.
-
well took some pictures during the day and managed to get my original wheels back off a mate to put on.

You have the legal right to choose your repairer when going through insurer as long as they are approved if i remember correctly. Hope it gets sorted soon mate.

i will give them a chance, its a bit unfair to tar everyone with the same brush. lets hope i dont regret it lol
-
would it be worth a shot having a word with your local main dealer about their collision repair service?...
-
You can chose any Repair centre you want. It will just mean that if you don't use one affiliated to your insurance co. you need to get a quote from them for the work first before they will authorise it.
I did this recently when some dizzy hint reversed into my car. I told them (i claimed through her insurance not mine) i wanted it doing at a Skoda Dealer and not the place they wanted to take it.
-
As said you can choose your own repair centre, I did and I'm glad it didn't go to Arnold Shark.
-
Ouch, hope you get it sorted out to a good standard.
-
well a mate came over and had a look at the car for me to see what the damage would be and he reckons its a write off :sad1:
giving it to Arnold Clark tomorrow to see what they say in the matter.
-
chassis twisted...shock bent...battery uplifted...and engine moved to the one side lol
oh and the rear lowering springs are fine if anyone wants them for a few beer tokens :signLOL:

Gutted for ya!

Gutted!
What you replacing it with?
-
Gutted!
What you replacing it with?
not got a clue, might just go without a car for 6months, ive been saving up for vineers and a full sleeve tattoo so no car will speed up the process.
i have a company vehicle and i can use my girlfriends Cooper S so i'm not to fussed just now. Most likely either going to be an Edition30, R32 or might just save up a bigger deposit and get an S3 Sportback
-
is insurance paying out? what thay saying to it?
