Well the time has come, my 911 is up for sale, its been a great year of ownership, and if you ever get the chance do it, I shall be returning some point to Porsche ownership.......... My wife's Golf Edition 30 is also up for sale, and also our Golf GT140! I have decided to wind a bit more money off my mortgage and run one car!
I am in the lucky position that if I ever need something bigger I just borrow it off my rental department, so the car I buy is mainly for my wife for the school run, and running about in at the weekend. Mileage is relatively low, so mpg isnt too much of an issue, within reason, we love hatchbacks, auotmatic/dsg, 5 door and 4wd would be nice - you can see where this is going..........
My options are;
Golf R
Audi S3 Sportback
Audi RS3 - worried about residuals on these????
BMW1M .............not enough seats for the weekend, its a manual, but it is an awesome drive!
What do you think!
Is the RS3 worth £10 - £12k over a Golf R or S3?

Lancia Delta Intergrale. You won't lose a penny on it.

Lancia Delta Integrale
:signLOL: for the not losing a penny on it tho. Good try.
How about a 4motion Mk4 Golf? Or a Mk5 R32? DSG, 5 doors and 4wd. :happy2:

Well let's face it, it won't depreciate anything like a modern car - it's a classic. I'd bet money you could run one for a year and sell it on for what you bought it for.

BMW 1 Series M any day of the week. (If you can get your hands on one that is).
-
ED35. :happy2:
-
Has to be RS3 or S3 sportback as you said want hatchback with 4WD - Golf R looks better than S3 but has a smaller boot by about 27 litres!

.:R.
+1 I heard one of these at the dealers with standard exhaust and it sounded very throaty! :happy2:

ED35. :happy2:
He's right :happy2:
-
R would be nice but same engine as your ED30 go 2.5TFSI expensive but hey sounds like you love your cars.

Due sometime this year and may get 4WD.
Fingers crossed it gets either the 1.6T or 2.0T engine too.
:happy2:

curveball - impreza wrx sti?
-
Rs4 :happy2: from the list it would be the bm for me, I wouldn't put the others in the same league, best of the rest would be golf r, dunno why I got a big soft spot for them
-
I always wanted a Lancia Monte Carlo, I should imagine they have all rusted away!
i remember asking for an insurance quote on one when i was 19 and he replied its in the same group as a cruise missile!

Good car but it would be like sticking a big ugly wart on your drive - they aren't lookers. Interior isn't much to write home about either.
Another curveball.
Mitsubishi Evo sportback SST

Thanks or all the replys.
Its a no to the Subaru , and ive lready had an RS4, great car but dreadful on fuel.
I really like the RS3, but a mapped Golf R might just do it or me, at £10k cheaper.
Anyway ive got 3 cars to sell first........... :happy2:

All great ideas but I have a feeling VW will bottle it (again) and it will get a FWD with tweaked 1.4tsi.

Ditto. steering was sublime, no other way to describe it, but the engine i thought was crap. My Octavia felt like it had more punch.
Octavias interior and engine, in the evos shell and chassis would have been my perfect car

Im not sure they will use the 1.4TSI, I hope so though, id quite like an injector upgrade.

Personally i would get an S3 Sportback in sprint blue and get it mapped, you get the comfort and luxury aswel as a demon under the bonnet, plus 4wheel drive for the winter. Wins it hands down for me :notworthy:

-
I think Oli might have had his fill of 5 door Edition 30s
