Hi all, i came home today to find a patch of black liquid on the drive where my exhaust is when i park up, like its sprayed out when ive started the car. im a bit worried tbh, what could cause this?
Cheers

Possible turbo is on its way out
-
It's more likely to be the 'coking' deposits from inside the exhaust system mixed with the extra amounts of moisture the system creates at this time of year from cold.
-
Its a brand new bcs tbe, only been on since 23rd dec. I hope its not the turbo but if it is
cheers for the quick replys :happy2:

When you rev the car there will be blue smoke if its the turbo,
-
It's just a soot and water mix. Nothing to worry about.
-
Ill check for blue smoke later but I haven't noticed anything. I hope so cant really afford a new turbo just yet
-
Been and had a look. No blue smoke just the usual vapours so hopefully just carbon mixed with water
-
All good :happy2:

Straight to the point and correct :happy2:

Wipe the inside of your tailpipe with your finger, rub the residue between finger and thumb - if it's oil it'll be slippery
As others have said it'll be moisture and soot :happy2:

cheers, is it to do with the exhaust being new aswell because even in the stupid temperatures we had last year it didnt do it. will defo be keeping my eye on it though
-
New exhaust will be different as it wont have as much sooty build up to absorb the condensation from the gases, this is why it'll seem to smoke more (and smell different\0

cheers for all your help everyone :happy2:
