Title: Tyre Pressures
Post by: am1w on January 08, 2012, 11:24:52 am
Stupid question I am sure.
Must the car be on a level surface for an accurate  tyre pressure check or is it ok to check this when it's parked at an angle along a kerb?

Should be fine assuming it hasn't somehow changed the volume of the tyre ?

Level surface and cold(first thing)as they will be wrong if you've driven about for a bit as this increases tyre pressure.

Thanks.
Flat and cold it will be.
Knew about the cold and always checked on flat surface.
Confirmation appreciated.

The extra weight of the incline makes a difference ? So if I park one way on a hill take the pressures and then park the other I'm going to see a difference?
Thinking about it the spare is pumped up off the car (no weight) so I don't think the incline will matter much.

I'll pump and check tilted and non-tilted but definitely cold.
