Title: Service in West Yorkshire

Hi,

Can anyone recommend someone in the Wakefield/Ossett/West Yorkshire area to service my ED30? Local stealer has quoted £212 for its 4 year (major) service + £320 for the cambelt change. Ouch – not what I need just after Christmas:(  Anyone any suggestions of a cheaper alternative somewhere around the Wakefield or even Barnsley area?

if the £320 includes VAT and the water pump that's a good price  :happy2:

I can highly recommend Simon Whittaker @ VagCo on Doncaster.

As per my recommendation that should be in this section

Other members on here have taken my advice and been very happy with the price & service  :happy2:

I can also recommend Dave Hawthorne @ SERE motors for supplying the cambelt kit

He is based in belfast and is a Seat dealer that provides mail order with good discount.

Dave has helped me out countless times and is a top bloke

Thanks for your replies guys.

 I’ll look into Simon @ VagCo thanks, but he may be a bit too far away for me I’ll see :happy2:  Oh and the £320 didn’t include the water pump – that would be an extra £80, plus I don’t think they included replacing the spark plugs in the price for the service. VW Barnsley quoted me a total of £710 for the 4 year service, cambelt & water pump change :surprised:

Steve stay away from VW Barnsley....... loads of problems with them, they are rubbish  :fighting:  I use a local independant based in Rotherham for all mine, had loads of issues with all the VW dealers round here.... took one of my vans into Gi****s and they took the mick and told me stuff wanted doing when it didnt...... charged me £170.00 just to change the oil, i now get it done for £80.00 and all the parts including the oil comes from there trade parts depot !!   :confused:
