Any thoughts or knowledge on this would be appreciated! :happy2:

Yes
Someone else has put S5 seats in an 8P and the 8P and Mk5 have completely interchangable seats from a mechanical point of view (not sure about electrics)
I'm afraid I'm not sure on the specifics regarding getting them to fit. I'd imagine google is your friend here

Ideal cheers :drinking: ! Looking at a couple sets on eBay at the moment good possibility as they seem to be well priced
-
Sorry just wanted to make clear I was referring to the front seats only. The rears won't fit!
Happy bidding, make sure you post pics when you've had them fitted :happy2:

Sure they do as a few A3 guys are running S5 seats in theirs as already mentioned!
-
hmm its irritating that as they're all selling complete sets... but one guy has said he would sell me the front, back door cards and arm rests for 500, is it worth buying and then trying to sell the rest separately  ??
-
How did it go with fitting these seats?
-
I didn't in the end as Steve sold his leather gti seats and I had those instead :)
-
Oh damn. I got them but can't get the passenger seat electrics to work!
-
Hey,
I'm in the same boat as you. Was gonna look to putting some a5 leather seats in my mk5.
So, just to confirm, you were able to put both the rear and front seats into the mk5 without any mechanical issues?
Are you on a 5 door GTI?
What are the electrical issues you are having?
Thanks,
n4l.

With the S5 seats, the car needed new rails at the front to hold the seats down. The back seats fit in but the part which you sit on, you need to mod it to fit them down. This is on the 3 door golf. Electrics, if you know what you're doing can be done.
