Hi,
recently had my cam belt changed and now where the engine mount screws into the block the lugs on the engine block have broken. Has any one heard about this before or know how to solve it? Engine code is AXX
Any help would be great.

iirc this is a problem with the cambelt being done... The bolts(which have snapped on yours) should be replaced when doing the came belt...
Only from memory, someone will confirm...

This i what i have been led to believe too :happy2:
Problem can be caused by the stretch bolts being reused and snapping due to being over torqued or even by not being tightened correctly again :happy2:

^^Exactly what i was told too...... need to use new bolts or the old bolts will fail not long after :fighting:

So you are saying the lug on the back of the engine block has snapped off? I have seen this before but only a few times. There is a fairly easy fix for this. PM me.

Hi!
I have a problem with my Mk5 GTI. Rear engine cover bolt has come off the block. Have you ever seen this mistake? How can it be repaired?
Engine code: BWA.
Sorry for the bad english! :drinking:
Thank you for your help!
