Title: Gutted, i knew i was too low!! it happened.
Post by: joesgti on April 20, 2009, 01:57:29 pm: Pulling up outside tesco on my dinner and i clipped the curb :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:

was very embarressing as there was about 10 people quing for the cash machine and about 20 other people stood around chatting and shopping, then crunch and all eyes were on me, i also had that LMFAO tune YES full blast :ashamed:

so i jumped back in the car and drove straight to my body shop (who im very good friends with) who still had my old splitter, so he is going to get it colour coded up for the weekend free of charge so at least i wont be coming to players with no splitter.

so what are my options now?? anybody know of any smart splitters that dont require you to be a lottery winner to be able to afford them?? how much is the OSIR one?? i dont want the reirger one as its just too low, but looked amazing!! :sad:

@ ballicus, my painter (simon) said he could mend it :grin: but told him to just paint up the other one. :smiley:

i've delevoped my own splitter and made it uber strong in case this happens to me but so far it's only available for the .:R32, will be for the GTI in time

@ VC The front splitters are designed to be fairly weak, so they don't damage the top bumper. Making it stronger will just create more collateral damage in a collision won't it? :confused:

And yours was already popping off at the arch connection due to previous hits, like hurdy says any stronger and you would be getting damage elswhere.
the Osir V3 is a sexy mo of a splitter :smiley:

i've got it so it's designed to flex when needed and break if need be, that's the theory

im getting the std piece put back on but colour coded for the time being, im p!ssed off mostly because i didnt want to spend any more on her as savings have now started for the r20 (rumour car :laugh:) but i may be in a swap with a member on here who has something a lil special 8)

if anybody whats to see pics of my car then just check out my project :happy2: im not going to be a pic whore and post them in this thred :party: :laugh:

I believe the part number to be:

1KM0716099AX

When I enquired in October 2007, it was priced at Ã‚Â£218.00 incl. VAT. No doubt it will have changed now.

Iam waiting until, my ride height is set to the height i am happy with before i dive in. :rolleye:
