Title: Blue paint - wax of choice?
Post by: VC on January 11, 2012, 07:01:39 pm
Whats a good wax for blue paintwork? I've got a tub of light fantastic and supernatural but does anyone rate the colour impregnated ones?

What's your preference  :popcornsoda:

some folks with blue cars espec the R32 blue opt for blue velvet so they can see the wax when it dries. for darker blues i prefer waxes that dry clear.

Purple Haze Pro for me on blues...

Although SN always looks good.

On lighter shades i prefer sealants as they tend to add a sharper more reflective finish

Do you have a link or more info for this blue velvet stuff?

Btw if anyone wants to swap waxes with me I have 2 hardly used ones, a light fantastic and the posh supernatural one in the wooden pot which allows cheap refills, when I had a white car and a silver one they were superb but just not so hot on a blue  :happy2:

I was really impressed, the paintwork was pretty rough and shocking with alot of blemishes  :sad1:

an afternoon working on it and finishing it off with the haze has disguised all of the blemishes and left a deep pearly wet look finish  :pomppomp:

quick shot:

to be honest i have used al sorts of dodo waxes on many different coloured cars. it doesnt seem to matter if you use orange crush on a blue car etc.

i can honestly say though..

Dodo juice Supernatural hybrid is a lovely product.

I personally use Swissvax Shield (winter) and Best of show on my speed blue Leon however it's almost impossible to tell the difference except the shield is more durable.

I helped test Dodo's new wax "bouncer 22" and it's pretty awesome in all honesty. It was still beading and sheeting well after several months use up here on the east coast of Scotland (right on the seafront)

deffo worth thinking about mate

I think you've got the best wax already, Supernatural is better than the colour versions, it's much purer.

When I run out of Light Fantasic I will be investing in some Supernatural

FWIW I absolutely hated Supernatural v1. Dunno what their latest version is like but it just didn't give me the look I was after. In fact, I'd bought Lusso Oro from autoperfection and found that was far better IMO.
