Washed my red ed30 today after picking it up yesterday & found that the bumpers are a very slight different shade of red...is this normal & how to solve this problem without forking out on a re-spray??before this I had a mk5 gt170 in red and it had the same problem

Bumpers are plastic rest of the body is metal there will always be a slight difference in colour shade :happy2:

Never, ever, ever use Colour
Tragic Magic. It always looks wrong.

As above, there are subtle differences. I noticed something similar with my black ED30 and TBH with oher black and nonblack ED30s too.

my black golf matches spot on from factory, but since i have had rear bumper sprayed very slightly different. So so hard to get a perfect colour match.
My mate is getting his bmw sprayed as some woman crashed into his door and they have said the whole side will be sprayed to look matched whether there pulling a fast one i dont know but i would be gutted, insurance job he isnt happy either.

My bumpers are a perfect match.
However, when my rear faulty bumper had to be replaced under warranty, it took the VW Bodyshop 5 goes and 5 weeks (!) to get it perfect. Eventually they had to blend it with the rear quarter panels.
The bumper was faulty as the flat portion around the number plate was badly deformed. It was quite a drama to get VW to agree to get this rectified. I had to write to the MD whose intervention finally produced the results I required and expected. VWCS are a nightmare.
Red is a very difficult paint to match as there are 3 different shades for Tornado Red. Red also fades more easily than any other colour.

In some light it can look a bit different.
