Title: Bluefin installed today
Post by: Coe on January 12, 2012, 06:45:55 pm
I fitted my bluefin stage 1 map today. Wow! What a difference, really noticeable, the cars still runs smooth with no adverse issues. Very easy to install too. Well worth doing, only issue is front tyres aint gonna last long

I'd recommend getting a rolling road to see if the Bluefin has achieved the advertised power increase. The beauty of self tuning boxes is that you can get a print out of before and after power outputs.

Only mentiioning this as a friend's healthy GT TDi 140 ran 146bhp in stock mode but only 165 bhp on Superchips Bluefin map (not thier advertised power increase  :sad1:)

As far as I know Superchips were very helpful and sorted it out for him but I'd get it checked, for all manufacturers not just Superchips. You might get a good surprise. I used a Shark Performance Self Tuning System (STS) and got 182 bhp (Golf GT TDI 140) instead of their advertised 170!  :driver:

I added Bluefin to my MK6 in December really thinking I'd be disappointed as people say its tame compared to others.  BUT I love it. Midrange is massively improved.

Yeah it's all useable, as you say it feels the same as before but more of everything all the way through the rev range.

Love it.
