Hi Guys,
Does anyone have the part number for the 10 pin halogen headlight plug? Or even better, two old plugs spare for sale? Also, where are the auto level sensors on xenons fitted and the control unit?
Many Thanks,
Luke.

I`d also like to know where the control unit is fitted for the xenons as mines died and needs replacing...
-
i've got two old 10pin plugs complete with pins for sale
the auto level sensors are fitted to the front and rear axles, on the left hand side, i recently did this retrofit. if your handy with a soldering iron and have a bit of wiring knowledge i can easily guide you through wiring up the auto levelling as i've successfully completed that on my own 1.9 sport!
the control unit for xenon range control is located behind the glove box - involves removing the glovebox i'm afraid chaps...
craig, how have you learnt yours has died? vagcom scan?

Thanks for the info!
Do you have the part number off the plug please? Could do with ordering them from TPS for tomorrow morning.
Thanks.

Brill, thanks mate! Just to confirm, the control module for the auto levelling unit is directly behind the side panel on the passenger side of the dash. Open the passenger door, pop the panel of and it's the unit in there!
-
Sorry to hijack but does the control unit come with the kufatec auto levelling kit?

Yeah I found the following after a scan the other week. Also after driving the car for a little more, seems like the lights are in the dropped config, as the light is not shone out far from the car...

thats not your control module!
your control modules working fine, its doing its job beautifully and diagnosing that theres a fault with the front sensor
if you start your car, full lock your steering aaaaaaaaall the way to the right, then in the left footwell if you can get behind the wheel you should be able to see the sensor, if all looks well, you can HOPE that its just the sensor giving up the ghost, chances are waters gotten into it, but worst case scenario its a wiring problem...
ideally if you can remove the left wheel and show us a picture of that area, the wheel sensor will be bolted to the left wishbone
if you can see that blatantly the sensors broken then theres your culprit, otherwise send me a PM and i've got a spare sensor sitting here that you can plug in and if that gets rid of the code, all you've got to do is unbolt the sensor assembly, undo the two screws which are holding the current broken sensor in the sensor arms, bolt in the new one and your good to go!
the way that VW did the levelling system is really quite good compared to some of the other offerings by OEMS and the sensors that are used (made by hella are fairly reliable however they do go from time to time)
let me know how you go :happy2:
