Looking at a 08 Ed 30 with about 45k on the clock.
Has had dsg serviced but not sure about the cambelt.
What should be serviced at this stage?
-
4 years or 60k i think
-
It's 4 years, or 120k miles, whichever comes first.
-
The 120k interval was changed by VW a couple of years ago, however the service book wasnt :signLOL:
-
Well, they forgot to change the ELSA software that the dealers use then.
It's inspect at 60k miles and every 20k miles afterwards, and change at 120k miles. Dealers lie, y'know.
-
I Should have used the search function. :D
As I see it it's 4years or 60k.
So a car that June 08 and on 45k isn't due it's cam belt for another few months??
If you were buying would you expect money off for impending cambelt service??

I had one snap on me a number of years back. first thing i changed when i got my gt tdi at 43k was cambelt. Once bitten twice shy!

This was discussed in detail a few weeks ago here. (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,39800.0.html)

+1 for 4 years or 60k. I have had them both done, in the vRS at 56k and the PD140 at 48k, both 4 years old though, no point in risking it for a couple of hundred quid imo. :happy2:
-
My car only has 10600 miles on, but will be getting it done when it turns 4 in March. :innocent:
-
Been quoted £420 for cambelt and water pump at my local VW. When I had my Bora Highline, VW wanted over £600 for cambelt and water pump... :rolleye:
