Finally got around to fitting my Alpine headunit today. A mate and I took a long lunch (which included a trip out to the local Alpine dealer!) and after much unclipping and removing of trim got the old stock headunit out and fitted my exisitng Alpine. Sounds loads better already, not been tuned yet either! :happy2:
Soory about the cr4ppy iphone picture quality!

Nice install - the surround blends in nicely. Alpine units are almost always nice.
Did you amp the speakers too or just a new HU?
-
nice install looks good, hard to go wrong with Alpine :happy2:
not a fan of those plastic infills though, maybe shove an equaliser or processor in thereĀ
-
Looks v cool! I've got an Alpine in mine too
-
Looks like a nice quality headunit.
Maybe shove some extra dials under it to fill the void?
-
Thanks guys. No amp, just the headunit. Fortunately it's got v-drive so ain't too bad. Not sure what to put below, give me some ideas?! Is there a boost guage that fits a din size gap?
-
looking good,i like the pocket underneath to rest my junk in :signLOL:
-
fabricate something so you can fit a couple of gauges in, maybe a boost gauge and an oil temp gauge?
-
Is there anything already available to go in? I dont fancy fabricating anything...

It's even VAG related.

Oh, now I'm thinking....
The DIN panel is going to be the same, even though this is on a MKIV.
Some cheeky DEFI gauges.....

Looking good, I like those 42 draft design gauges. :happy2:
I used to have a Becker Mexico Pro, awesome....
-
Looks miles better matey, much better that the standard crap
-
Yes, the Fisher Price 'My first radio' isn't the most asthetically pleasing, not best performing...
Beckers rule, it was only the yukky DIN bin that put me off having it in the MKV. Problem solved. :happy2:
