Hi all this is my first post on here. I am going to veiw a 07 gti tomorrow black,dsg,2k miles,.
Just wondering if any one has any advise on what to look out for and your opinion on the dsg.
trading in my mk1 leon fr+ 150 tdi so hopeing to notice the jump in power :surprised: :happy2:
-
to be honest with only 2k on the clock the car should be like new !! you will love it all the same
-
i would be looking for accident damage, paint problems, most of the other parts will be covered under warranty, just make sure it drives ok and stops ok etc
-
Oh, is it a VW dealer ?
-
There's a whole checklist here: clicky (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=64432.0) for new cars, but much of it applies.
Remember to inspect the log book, the service history etc. Have a look to see if the car's been serviced according to the correct setting eg Time and Distance, or Long Life.
Obviously look for any damage, chips etc. Thoroughly inspect the car.

Seems exceptionally low mileage for an 07.
I think you will notice a lack of low revs kick after the PD unit but you will definately notice the extra rev range!
-
Oh, is it a VW dealer ?
cheers guys yes its a vw dealer verve in glasgow

should be ok then regarding stolen rec etc , dealers do a return in 30 days policy too, so all should be good

nice to find such a low milage, hopefully you can get a bargain mate and yes dsg is the nuts
-
interested to hear what you think
i'm going to think you'll find throttle response being alot better due to petrol, and quicker off the mark.
be interesting to see what you think once on the go.
-

Hi guy yes still loving the new car will try to get some pics up soon
Just been reading lots of all threads some very good stuff
trying to get some ideas for new 18" wheels as the car is
sitting on 17s
The back end of the golf gets dirty so quick dose any one have mud
flap ?
Cheers
-
i think it must be how air flows around the back of the golf, i tried sum mud flaps on mine over the winter and they only helped a little if anything, iv took them off as more mud gets stuck behind them then they stop
glad your liking your car :happy2:

Cheers top cat
Still in need of some 18" cant make my mind up on monzas or
something different and a remap
-
I would say re-map first, once you have had that done, you wont be able to stop and then you can say goodbye to normal life, and hello to never having any spare cash. :driver:
