Title: Advice on exhaust..
Post by: AjayB on January 21, 2012, 02:46:11 pm
I'm wanting to upgrade my Golf GT TDI the GTI rear but can't justify the cost of a Milltek just yet so i was wondering if i should go for a GTI Backbox with the dual tails or get a custom backbox made up which aren't too expensive? Would a custom backbox usually make the sounds a lot louder? i don't want anything loud at all, maybe a little burble when i floor it but normal driving i'd like it to be the same as is now.

If anyone knows any good places to get one made in the leeds area please let me know :)

I've also posted in the WANTED section to see if i can get a GTI backbox from anyone. http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,41226.0.html

Thanks,

Ajay

Hey AJAY
The GT TDi sounds great with the rear box removed, running pipework from the centre silencer straight to the tail pipes.
We can help if required.
Cheers

Hi Nige. Thanks for the reply  :happy2:

Is it just a case of welding some twin tailpipes onto the pipework coming from the centre? How much would you charge to do this and where are you based?
