Afternoon all,
I found these on ebay.de a minute ago, as i've been on the lookout for some projector headlights for my MK5 Golf GTi
http://www.ebay.de/itm/HELLA-UPGRADE-XENON-LOOK-SCHEINWERFERSET-GOLF-V-MK5-GTI-/400019949317?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item5d230c0705#ht_2008wt_1270
What do you think? They look like very good replicas if not original.
Thanks :happy2:

Same as the ones I'm watching but a different seller. They are the ones I'm going for when money permits.

Ah yeah, they look pretty decent to me. Are you bothering with Xenons in them? Im weighing up using a HID kit or trying to source oem ballasts to use.
The description says it includes bulbs, but not sure if that's just normal H7 Halogens...
-
They are made by Hella who make the OE ones. There are a few people on here who have them and have reported the quality being A1.
These take a normal H7 lamp I think and when I get them I will be running a H7 HID kit.
-
Just what I want (need) Who has these and whats the quality and beam like compared to OEM?
-
Brilliant they do look good, looks like I'll have to make a purchase.
Quite expensive when HIDS are in the mix. I'd probably go to HIDS4U as they're a fantastic bit of kit. £90-120 I believe

This is where I first found out about them http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,12771.0.html (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,12771.0.html)

Is it more is are not not better of getting OEM's?
These cost £320, HID kit costs £100 say? So that's £420 which isn't far of OEM price?
-
These are even cheaper:

That's a good find! I'll give them an e-mail to see what they say about postage etc

Hi RENGTI
I'm probably wrong here but won't these lookalike xenon headlamps (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OEM-GTI-LOOK-PROJECTOR-Headlight-2005-VW-Jetta-Golf-5-/170761840156?_trksid=p5197.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26itu%3DI%252BUA%26otn%3D12%26pmod%3D200579708297%252B150733731943%252B) be left hand drive? I know the UK spec. OEM Xenon's have a lever to slightly deflect or shield the beam to prevent blinding oncoming drivers if one is driving on the Continent (Europe), but its not a changeover to Left Hand drive - these will therefore not be suitable for driving here....or am I off completely off base?!

PS. I'm on the lookout for a set of Xenon's myself!

I installed a set "Hella xenon look" headlights a few months ago. They look great and the quality of the headlamp is as good as OEM. Afterall Hella supply VW.
They do take a H7 halogen bulb, I put in a set of philips extreme vision. They are not good enough. The halogens do not cover a good distance. In my opinion these lamps need a HID kit. I plan on getting one from HIDS4U next month.
With the new MOT rules coming in these may be a better option than OEM xenons without levellers.
