Title: Red GTI...I <3 its big butt!
Post by: brady88 on January 27, 2012, 05:57:56 pm
Might as well throw up some pictures and show off the new woman's big behind  :D

Bought it standard back in October... 38k on the clock, totally standard, 2 owners (mother and son  ) with a big smile on its face saying "buy me...nobody ever drives me like a GTI!!"

How she sat on purchase...after the 4 bald 18"s were replaced lol

First up, new name badge:

Never really touched it until after new year when my bank account had stopped crying  :jumpmove: then the fun began!

First up..LED number plate bulbs, cheap and simple:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F814b66b1.jpg&hash=875c420aa05d289d45818986747e3c9a51804e75)

Then the horribly carbon'd exaust was annoying me so it was time for a Milltek  :happy2:
Good timing as Awesome were having their January sales!WIN!

Stuff that didn't quite fit:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2Fa3b23f98.jpg&hash=e379141bba5d1f73503a1a43bf3da027530f87b3)

Shiny stuff:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F25d14824.jpg&hash=77fc2c09d61f717c877b7e5634a50bfc4c0e6944)

Fulton doing what he does best:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F06cf6fca.jpg&hash=65b3db4a591b05ef787369f28fce58eae1ed79ce)

The results:

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2Fb2be4199.jpg&hash=ad535caf30aa820569b7cb1f50996e759be2f2d0)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F81173e6e.jpg&hash=1272ff27051a12febd7d75d327e06d52ed79ebcf)

Then on to some lowerage...probably not enough  :signLOL:

First of all I saved some money buying 2nd hand 30mm H&R's...but something wasnt right!?:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F3861ef22.jpg&hash=2492a94b7ff80e40c8ce850a6312d6b737810f42)

Not a noticable drop I hear you say...and you'd be right...wrong springs!!!:
Left - 30mm .... Right - Standard... but no difference:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F7a4408d7.jpg&hash=a4c5beeb87966f594be42b42b72034a0b22e3386)

So they went back and some spanking new 30mm H&R's were bought (again from Awesome):
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2Fe390fba3.jpg&hash=7ff3e485ffdea73c03da3d92bfd3fa839565b9da)

And it was back to Alan's Autos for round 2!

Fulton dressed like a Trawlerman:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F21122fc8.jpg&hash=d800099639d1b58d3bffe2eda2dd24b28905f637)
One down...a while to go:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F85f79d12.jpg&hash=93dad13fb54022bd219a79f9444cfd2f49e31e8b)

Now happy with the reduced off-road ability:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2F261d4c98.jpg&hash=d21f0fa185f9184affb5d40e358e1e10d243de4b)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fab31%2Fbrady_1988%2Feac069f6.jpg&hash=f94fcfc27f9840ea0efc76a8e18d66ee694e1000)

Sorry if this is a bit picture heavy...just had a lot to share   :drinking: hopefully some clean pics will follow!
Now how much is this thread going to cost me?!?!?!?!?!?!

Cheers man!

Got them from Awesome GTI...30% off just now so 194.95
Its a bit firmer as to be expected but doesnt ruin the ride quality...looks much better and improves the handling!!  :happy2:
If you're going for springs...get these!

The plan was to get the bumpers and skirts done after Xmas, and an ED30 splitter... but I blew the money on the Milltek

As above, hopefully the bumpers etc coded... if not, some Pescara wheels, forge twintake or EVOMS induction :jumping:
Wont be for a while though... its time to get a holiday booked!!

Dont even tempt me lol all these things seem to appear on the shelves when I've just blew a wad haha!
They will be my wheels of choice when the time comes though  :happy2:
