Title: Hello
Post by: Brunty on January 29, 2012, 09:57:14 pm
Hi guys,

I'm just in the process of buying a Mk5 GTI, hoping to pick it up mid week. From what I've been driving I've got to say I'm looking forward to it  I've been scraping ice off the inside of the roof on frosty mornings recently

Hoping to get the chance to tinker with the car a bit over the summer, but retain it's standard appearance from the outside as it's a nice standard black one atm.

Cheers!

Thanks guys, picked the car up yesterday and had a good drive home. MPG wasn't as good as I was expecting, hoping a good service, new air filter etc will help a little. Otherwise very pleased

Bummer about the weather today! Was hoping for a little play

Well, it's nothing exciting! Standard Black 05 GTi. I've never had a black car and after my wife has had a couple (just put an order in for another one), thought they just look better in black so held out for one :)

Gotta say, I'm enjoying it still :)

I will be looking at fitting an exhaust and air filter kit on it soon. Also, springs - it feels a little soft on the standard stuff and doesn't turn in as well as the Scirocco which is almost the same under the skin, so I feel some H&R (which are now fitted on the Scirocco) or some Eibachs coming soon. Unless we manage to sell our house due to upgrade, in which case it'll be staying standard until the mortgage is lower!!!
