If he hasn't done it yet, its unlikely he will as club registration ended last month. I got my other car clubs one in just in time.

Don't know where u got ur info from but I've just had it confirmed by the organiser that club registration for Inters 2012 is still open.

All they need is someone representing the forum to notify them with contact details

I'll probably be there on the Sunday too as long as it doesn't clash with any other shows.
Was a bit disappointed by the club stands last year, were kind of just shoved out of the way in a field. Could do with having them in rows up another part of the tarmac so you can go and have a good look at them.

Unfortunately at these things immediate family are important. I don't want to spend the rest of my life getting bollocked from every family member including her in-laws for going to a GTI show instead of her wedding. It just isn't worth it!

I think 2010 they had the offer of 20% off plus free sps switch. This was when VAT was 17.5%. Think I ended up paying £420 for something that should have cost £600 or so.

Last year was similar but obviously because VAT had gone up, the price had gone up, but still around 20% off i think.

Camping is a bit pricey but a load of us from here all camped together last time I went and it was a proper giggle

Are you taking another village/town size tent?  :notworthy:

Camping is great fun!

Def have to take an old BBQ just for a camp fire....and some decent firewood. Having a camp fire makes all the difference  :happy2:

Oh yes, and I for one can highly recommend entering the REVO prize draw.  :star: :star: :star:

"provided by Revo Technik,
To be drawn on 8th April 2012 - Two prizes of Revo Stage 1 software* install, including an SPS switch each.    *for any production ecu remap that Revo currently cover - worth up to £1,200 retail price each.

To be drawn on the 8th May 2012 – to be confirmed – check GTI website

To be drawn on the 8th June 2012 – to be confirmed – check GTI website

subject to the lucky winners booking directly with Revo HQ, and we will elect to either install directly or direct them to their nearest Authorised Revo Dealer and that each winner agrees to having their vehicle photo'd and featured in our GTI International Marketing and PR programme and that of AutoMetrix too".

That wasn't an option for me when I won, but I really enjoyed the day at Revo HQ!
Spoke to Carl in some depth about Revo and their products and future plans, and then had the photo's taken for the website etc  :happy2:

I don't live in Constantine, but that's the nearest village to me as I live in a cottage in the middle of nowhere

As for Inters, I'd be tempted to stay on the campsite but I'd only be myself (loner yes I know). Last year I stayed in a hotel but fancy doing it different this year.

I will hopefully be there aswell, all being well its all going to be a bit last minute with the car undergoing some heavy modding. But I've been told it will be ready! I'm going to speak to them again and see where they are up to and book my tickets for camping before Friday. Reckon I can camp in the RRS if the cars not ready and I've bought tickets?

Only just paid for my ticket so I made the club stand deadline  :happy2:

However, I'm not very happy with the payment process. :fighting:

I've just paid Twice for one ticket, and I hope I get refunded ASAP :surprised:

I used a new Visa debit card, and as its new I had to go through the VisaSecure setup.

So I went through all the payment pages, filling in my details etc, and then clicked continue. I then get the VisaSecure page wanting me to setup my username/password etc.

After I filled in these details it just went to the autometrix homepage. WTF?

I didn't get any email receipts or confirmation of my order.

So I clicked the page back button, to see what would happen????
I took me back to the payment page with all my details still filled in. BUT it said my expiry date was incorrect???

I corrected it, and I clicked continue. It opened a new page with a transaction number for my order.

Thing is, when I checked my emails again, I had 2 of the same emails with from Autometrix with different transaction numbers.  :fighting:

So it's gone through twice.  :sad1:

Receive the refund for one of the tickets.

Now what happens? Do you just report to the hut on arrival or will they send me the ticket in the post?
Is this the same for the club pass?

I paid on the gate last time!

Yes pal but it's just a bog standard pants black edition diesel with nothing whatsoever done on it. I was just thinking of the RRS as if weathers bad I wont pitch my tent, just kip in that. Also if it's all last minute I will be trailering from silverstone direct so will need to be in the RRS for if it is ready. :happy2:

The stand passes are different colours for the 2 days - Saturday is blue (I think) and Sunday is pink. They are also marked Saturday or Sunday.

Due to work commitments i couldnt confirm before the 8th of June whether im going on the Sat or Sun or if at all, and therefore ive missed the deadline for the club stand pass. However i did email gti@autometrix about the club stand passes and got this reply:

"You will need to park in the car park, find a member of the club display team (hi-vis jackets) and check there is space on the MK5GOLF stand"

So people like myself who havent got a club stand pass im guessing if the club stands are big (never been before) then there maybe space. If there full then no worries i will just walk over instead

It will be good to meet some more people off the forum and to get some more inspiration for the direction of my modding  :happy2:

From the Inters website:

Please note that while children aged under 15 are admitted to GTI International free of charge, a small fee is payable to the operators of the children’s amusements.

So it looks like you will be ok!  :happy2:

I think the only thing in my envelope that referred to the sprint was my window pass (the one that sticks to the inside of the window, not the mirror hanger)

Bit harsh Ben ... Autometrix are only a small team so getting everything right for Inters is always a tall order.

Rich - dud u send ur sprint indemnity back? I only got my tickets / wristband after I posted mine back. Normal show ticket and club display came first no probs.

The year before was crazy hot too.  :scared:

Everyone was pi$$ed off and totally knackered first thing in the morning.

5am you could hear everyone waking up in their tents, starting to talk and complain about how steaming hot the tents were. You then last about another 1/2hr -1hr before finally giving in and going outside, but all your body wants is some sleep.

Still better than waking up to rain though.  :ashamed:

Yes mate, we have got a mk5golfgti club stand  :pomppomp:

Poor weather = Poor show IMO. I for 1 won't want to be walking round the stands in the pissing rain. The strip won't be running (or will be a waste of time if it is) and as for the camping......  :sad1:

Shame about the weather - is there any chance of this being called off due to the rain? I know the Show n Shine is on hardstanding , but the some of the clubs are on grass , could be a bit messy! Talking of that , are there any water facilities there , I didnt need to bother last year but it looks as if the car is going to need a wash on Sunday morning! (I have a 5 Hour journey from North Northumberland)

Even though I'm not going it would be a shame.  :sad1:

Is that the 997 or 6? Both did good runs but the 6 blew a water pipe.

Ed30 did well, saw a 4.4 to 60...can't remember the 1/4 et.

Is that the car with the new turbo.?

Or the 993!

The 3 and 6 ran together, both did mid 4s and low to mid 12s.

Think the 7 was similar. The 7 sounded great.

Steve jr did an 11.2 on the first run and blew the clutch (stock clutch) . It was the 997. It does sound mental!

The ED30 did a 13.4 but don't know how that compared to others with the conditions.

Anyone else got times? :popcornsoda:

My times were worse than last year :surprised:
i just couldnt get off the line, and the one time I got a perfect launch, the times didnt show up :fighting: I got a free run, but made a mess of it again.
My best times were a 5.67/14.02 My Vreds are on the wear indicators, so might have mnade a slight difference along with the head wind.
I have a few iphone vids of the smoking porsche, and a couple of TTrs' but dont know how to up them

Thanks for the launch tips Ben, worked on the result that never was :sad1:

Believe it or not, I've got a burnt head and neck off today, so much for the poor weather :ashamed:

Great to see some old faces today  :happy2:  turned out a nice day apart from the head wind.

My usual Ham Fisted Oaf technique proved to much with 3 degrees of camber on the front, but I cracked it on the 4th run.

Well pleased to get under 13 sec and 4.63 to 60 in the old Golf

Good times jussa

Looking forward to doing a few runs tomorrow.

I already have sprint tickets, can I just drive up and do a run or will I need to sign on first?

Yes mate, I believe you'll have to go to the ticket office and sign your life away 1st  :happy2:
Great to see some old faces today  :happy2:  turned out a nice day apart from the head wind.

My usual Ham Fisted Oaf technique proved to much with 3 degrees of camber on the front, but I cracked it on the 4th run.

Well pleased to get under 13 sec and 4.63 to 60 in the old Golf

Neil,
I was stood next the start when you did your fastest run.
Was quite interested to see your technique off the line in a tuned Ed30, as lots of cars were spinning their boots, especially the older stuff.
It seemed from the outside to be quite 'Driving Miss Daisy' and quite gentle in the initial phase, then once hooked up it just shot away, with a pleasing sound of gears going home with the DSG not interupting the flow of acceleration. Good job man.

That GTR looked rather rapido.

Bit of a sad day for GTI International with the accident on the 1/4 Sprint today. A Mk1 Leon with snap off steering wheel had a failure of some form and lost the steering wheel towards the end of the run, causing the car to cross the other lane and crash through the barrier into the crowd.

I hope the two people taken to Hospital are OK.  :sad1:

spent today at the event. tbh im a little disapointed, best time i could manage was 13.9 :stupid:

all in all it was a good day apart from the accident.

i feel the whole 1/4 mile setup was a total hash, the surface is no good, the time equipment is poor and the safety is appaling. the organisers need to move this show to santapod, if today had been at the pod  the worst case would have been a totaled car and 1 injured person.

those fences and cones they put out are shocking considering some cars are doing well over 100mph.

i hope everybody makes a quick recovery and that the whole world doesnt blame the driver as it rely wasnt his fault

Enjoyed today (apart from the crash of course!)

Met quite a few peeps off various forums and loved Richards new R8 V10

Ran the Polo in the wet in the morning and it made 14.0 for the 1/4 mile and 0-60 in 5.49. Not bad considering the surface and that it was still wet. Damn DSG stock map still spoiling things though.

I must admit that I enjoyed the handling course. 40.07 seconds.

Did jonny Cs TT perform as expected.

@jussa good times mate. You should have had a run with APRs Golf R. Would have been an interesting test

Thanks mate, bit pee'd off about the headwind as I wanted to break the 4 sec barrier

Thoughts are with the injured, hope all pull through.

That Headwind was crazy on Saturday Justin.

Even when sitting in the stand the wind was battering everyone's heads.

Must have taken 1 sec+ off the 1/4mile times.

Those S3's are Rapid though. Grip was amazing!  :notworthy:

There was definitely a PITA headwind on the Sat, no doubt..

Check the flags out on this vid.. My mate had to cup his hands round his phone whilst filming this (hence the sound being crap)..

I was a passenger in that Focus RS for a run, despite it having feck loads of Mountune power - it just won't allow you to use any in 1st & 2nd, due to the mapping.

Much like my mate's massive turbo MK4, you can't use it till you hit 3rd, and by then you're past the point of legal speed.

Big power FWD. Not all it's cracked up to be.  :signLOL:

Mapping..... Pah, they're just slow Mike..  :chicken: My Ed30 (when going Stage 2+) had all the road set up/manners of a elephant on rollerblades, but I could still get it off the line for a 1/4 mile run... Even without a dif etc..

LOL Ben!

I never said the RS was faster, but there was deffo a "why the hell isn't it going anywhere?" - which is apparently because the map pegs back power. We hit 3rd and then we finally got going. I can totally see now why low powered stuff has no problem hanging onto them in twisties.

BTW Beddie is a mate of mine too, so I'm not trying to piss on on his chips, he was long gone and even removing my fat arse from the passenger seat wouldn't have made any difference.

1/4 mile on saturday 12.563  0-60 3.94 seconds.  Justin should be right up there near the top spot as well now  :congrats: :congrats:

12 second 1/4 with a stage 1 ED30 DSG?  Do you mean low 13's?

My thoughts exactly John...  :surprised: You sure you got 12's last year Jack, don't remember that? Not very often you see a FWD Mk5 in the 12's at Inters and never at Stage 1?!?!

If you are chasing low 12's from a Stage 2+ ED30 you are going to need to get use to being disappointed pal. The only way that will happen is if you strip the whole car and run very sticky drag radials.. There aren't even that many ED30's that have got in the 12's, so that is an achievement in itself mate.. Most are on track tyres and weight loss, but it can be done on stock suspension, full interior and stock rubber, just be prepared to practise.... A LOT.  :signLOL:

bugger wanted to get in the 4's for 0-60, managed a 5.02, how close?

and 13.216, don't spose its too bad for a manual S3 with big fat wheels and a clumsy oaf behind the wheel

You're getting there Gaz..  :pomppomp: At least you know that the car is running well as you have pretty much done a carbon copy of my mate's times (the human dustbin who camped with us the other year if you remember?  :signLOL:). He is also running a pre-FL S2+ manual S3 and got 5.0, 5.1, 5.1 & 13.2, 13.1, 13.1 from his 3 runs on Sat..
His biggest problem is his SMF that won't allow him to be too quick on the stick..  :sad1:

I wasn't to far out this year, traction is the issue, more mods to come for next year so here's my guarantee....I bet you a drink I'll get 12's next year

Get yourself to Pod Jack, it's seen as a lot more accurate and official and you don't have to wait a year
I'd be up for a meet at some point and I know there's a few others on here who would..  :happy2:

The trick I found is to run lower boost settings, higher timing and get into 2nd as quick as possible.. If you are Stage 2+ and DSG you don't necessarily need more power mate.

If you crank up the volume on this vid, you can hear me change to 2nd not long after getting off the line.

I didn't to be honest  Not sure whether that would work too well on the 1/4 though as you would need to dial in some revs initially to get you off the line fairly quick. Something I doubt would be possible with a 2nd gear launch...

It's pretty clever how it works.....it's a test plan used to check the clutch plates for vibrations etc and faults being the box has 2 clutches, how healthy it is on the car I don't know....even on a manual I think your burn the clutch pretty quick setting of in second,
I can't fully remember how it's done but if memory serves me correct you put the car in reverse and then D and then Reverse and then select manual and select second, it may be right it may not but it is a combination of that type, I don't work for VW any more so can't check  :fighting:

Just found out that the guy who won the miscellaneous category on the 1/4 mile sprint (same category as me!) was in a 4WD Bentley Continental GT!!!!

I think he may have had a bit of an advantage over me. :sad1:

Having said that he only beat my time by 0.2 seconds and he was running in the dry in the afternoon! :surprised:

I wondered if a stock Veyron would go in the miscellaneous category too! :sad1:

In 2010 they actually had a Polo & Lupo class, that would be more reasonable :happy2:
