Title: Where for pre-owned watches?
Post by: Lyons on January 31, 2012, 09:16:30 am
Folks, I'm on the hunt for a new (used) Tag, specifically a Monaco.

There's very few jewellers over in here in Northern Ireland that stock second hand Tags, so I'm looking to increase my repertoire of places I can check by adding a few more from the Mainland.

Can anyone give me the names of any places you know of?

Thanks in advance.

I'd already seen them but the Monaco prices are quite high. Not sure if the rest are the same.

Watches of Distinction is another place I found too.

Thanks though, I appreciate the post.

This guy is really good, and can generally source what ever you want

www.tagexchange.co.uk

However, I wanted one of these:

http://www.tagexchange.co.uk/Sold-Mens/TAG-HEUER-MENS-SEL-WATCH-WG1113.html

which generally go for between 350 and 450, and I got it on ebay for 265, 1 owner from new.

Yes fella, sold them a watch last year and they did everything they said they would and honoured the price given prior to seeing the watch!  :happy2:

Just a word of warning......lots of fakes out there for sale. I bought one a while back and it was fantastic Omega Copy and even had had a serial number etched into it and if you know the size of the Omega serial numbers you will know how difficult it is to copy. I did notice it immediately on delivery and after about 50 emails to the ebay seller got my money back......but only after sending one from my work e mail address (Police) !

Thanks for the heads up. I intend to be fairly thorough if buying on eBay etc. an original receipt would help piece of mind.

I would like to think a jewellers would only have genuine items though.

Indeed but Goldsmiths Manager (A friend) could not say for certain until he took the back off and found a Seiko movement in an Omega watch. i took it tto him to have independent evidence if i need to take the matter further

It would be easier just to buy new!

Sadly I just could not justify spending circa £2k on a watch.
