Title: RCD510 - What are they worth?
Post by: Deako on February 01, 2012, 05:19:29 pm
Hi all. I'll be looking at selling my RCD510 at some stage in the near future, and im trying to get a realistic idea of how much its worth, to part fund a new RNS510.

I can see that they are up on eBay from a £150 ish start bid, with loads at £350 buy it now.

Can anyone that has sold one recently give me an idea of how much you managed to get for it?

Thanks in advance.

What do you think of the quality of the RCD510, im looking at chaging my basic unit to the rcd510 as i cant stretch to the rns510 yet. The unit i have at the minute is a single slot with very poor sound quality.

Its great. Its as good as the RNS in terms of sound quality.  :happy2: They are essentially the same unit, with a 6CD changer in place of the DVD and Hard drive on the RNS.

I got one off ebay for £275 which as far as I knew was only 4 months old, swapped out of owners' car for an RNS510.

A brilliant unit, does not allow speakers to distort like the old mk5 units (RCD300 etc) due to its class-D amp, and the light-sensitive screen is a nice feature (dims at night)  :happy2:

There are the same battery drain issues associated with the RDC510, as the RNS510. So make sure you have the relevant version. Mine is only 6 months old, but the car is an ex demo, and the unit is basically unused. I'll PM you details next week if thats ok? I'm waiting on the dealership sending me a new manual that they ordered for it, as they forgot to give it me with the car.

Values depend on bidders on ebay, looking at sold items in last 14 days (Use advanced search and then tick box "Completed items") you can see them all.

Depends on if it has Dab but values for OEM units seems to be between £175 and £260 depending on DAb.

RNS510 Units have sold from £420 to £530
