Post by: mkviken on February 01, 2012, 05:58:41 pm
im sick of getting on my hands and knees to was he the underside of my car so bought one of these

http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=192475

its a good price but I'm not sure if it comes complete with the detergent and after wash wax. should be 2 bottles.

i phoned the shop but they couldn't confirm what was included so will have to wait and see what i get in the box when it arrives.

I wouldn't worry at all. Waxes applied while washing are of no use to man nor beast and will certain not be up to providing protection to the underneath of a car where it is subject to all forms of abuse. It will just be a placebo effect, unless it is wax oil when it comes out lol.

well i always use scotoil FS365 my bikes (road or dirt) when I'm washing my bikes and the muck just slides off. it does protect and create a protective layer which dirt doesn't stick to as easily.

im assuming this must be the same type of stuff

Any reason why you didn't buy an underbody lance from the likes of autobrite?

I've got a underbody lance and its crap. i think this one would do a much more thorough job ad the wax sealant stuff is meant to stop the dirt from sticking

Used this today for the first time on my focus daily driver

The golf is clean top to bottom as I lifted it up the other day to wash the underside by hand so haven't treated the it yet with the karcher. I will do the gti when it's next dirty but it's never used in poor weather.

As for the focus I was amazed how much crap it got off. It seems to work really well looking at he colour of the water anyway! Don't know yet how well the after care wax works. But for cleaning alone it's very good

The only thing with this kit is you only get enough wash and wax (2 250mlbottles) which is 1 treatment so I had to buy a 1l bottle of chassis wax for £13 and the wash wax 5l concentrated for £3.

If your not bothered about the car wax I suppose you could use regular cheap car shampoo.
