Title: Traction Control button clips - i've just lost mine :(
Post by: sideshowfred on February 02, 2012, 09:19:07 pm
basically, I was just removing the ashtray to do some carbon wrapping, couldn't get the plug off the ESP button though. So i pushed it out of the hole, and both metal clips flew out and have gone, i suspect, down towards the bottom of the gear stick. So can i replace just the clips or do i need a whole new switch? also, on the 'SET' switch, one of the clips fell out but i recovered it. Is there anyway of getting it back in place, as there both a bit loose at the minute.

Hope i've explained well enough my problem lol

your best bet is to try and fish them out!

they do go back in, but the wider end slides into the bottom if that makes sense...

bit of a sh*te design on VW's part i've not had a single one stay in place if i've had to remove a switch!
