Title: Ceramic Coating
Post by: xht20 on February 03, 2012, 06:15:07 pm
So,
The problem is like this. My BSH manifold is hidden underneath fireproof layers and it can't be seen from engine bay, but i want to change that.
I was thinking in sending the DP + BSH Mani to Zircotec UK for ceramic coating.

It's really that good? Is it worth? My worry is that it will still make a lot of heat and could affect my intake pipe.

Thanks you

Ive had 2 manifolds, turbo downpipes (all inside and out) ceramic coated and it worked wonders on the problem we were having with temperatures (was on a Noble M12 gto 3R)

Keeping exhaust gasses hot also retains their speed which helps with power output. Price wasnt too bad either but dont know who did them for us.

Thank you PDT. Won't there be a problem with airflow if they will coat them at the inside?

No, if anything it will aid flow. Theres loads on the web regarding this procedure, popular with the Focus RS owners.

I used zircotec on my MPS a while back great service, and it made a massive difference. The stainless tubular mani was massively hot before, but you could actually touch after it was coated (still bloody hot mind) but it convinced me.
