They are what have been on my ED30 since new. They have performed well and worn evenly. Chris

There's certainly nothing wrong with them, just make sure they are 92y... My edition came with them... Though have since swapped to conti sport contact5's

I had got 225/40 R18 92Y XL on my Gt Tdi and can say they have been brilliant.  Very good in the corners but i dont throw my car hard round the corners or track so havent been put to the full test
But i recommend them  :happy2:

I had them on my old a4 cabriolet and thought they were a very good tyre, have heard people say they are a noisy tyre but I don't think they were.

my mk6 came with them new

they're excellent in the dry and good in the wet but poor in the cold. like mod performance summer tyres really

they're also a bit noisy but they're a very good tyre overall

The Bridgestone is the second worst tyre that comes factory fitted to the GTI, the worst being the Dunlop.
The Bridgestones are very noisy and pretty pathetic in the wet.

The best tyres are the new Continental ContiSport 5 and the quite new Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2.
The Continental would be my choice.

I have them all round at the moment but can wait for them to wear out as there are better performance tyres out there.

Good all - rounders but very noisy and harsh on rough surfaces.
Treadwear 140 which is very low so you dont get many miles out of them

F1 Assymetrics are far better IMO

if you read last months eve tyre test the bridgestone does really well in the dry and puts a good show in the wet too. it actually makes the fastest dry lap time.

they are really noisy though and they're heavy (tire rack have all the weights and these are much heavier than conti)

personally i prefer the sportcontact3 as the best performance tyre but these bridgestones are very good too.

I second that !

Thanks for the advice people! Will have to get them next weekend, but looks like the Continental Contisport 5's and Goodyear F1's are the ones to get, just not sure on price!  :scared:

They were fitted to my car when i got it, worst "performance" tyre i have had on the golf, not that great grip neither in dry nor wet. The only needed a couple of hours of standstill to get flatspotted and then about 5 kilometers to get round again.

Don't do it, you'll regret it.

MO = Mercedes fittment

If you can't decide between the Goodyear and the Continental, go for the one with the best rim protection.

I'll second the noise aspect of these tyres - there are quieter available.
