Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum. I just bought a golf GTI mk5 today and go to pick it up tomorrow. I've never had a golf before. I'm actually upgrading from a Vectra 1.6 lol so I can't wait to drive this!!...
Anyway I noticed in the engine where the plastic air intake thing is... the part that is closest to grill... the car has a removable plastic flap that seals the air intake and it's missing from the car. I asked the garage if they had it and they said no so I was hoping someone could tell me what that part is called so I can maybe find one on Ebay... or I was wondering if you guys had one spare and could send it to me.
I would add a pic to show you what I mean but I don't know how
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Craigh

I would insist that the whoever your buying the car from installs the missing part before taking delivery.

Agreed, as I don't think you can buy that part separately! :happy2:

Ahh I will ask tomorrow when I pick it up.
Do you know how much that whole part costs at all roughly? The first part pf the intake unit?

Didn't VW alter the intake on the mk6 to not have that part anyway?
If you can get it then do so but mine was missing it for ages and I did order a replacement part from VW. It was cheap and made no difference whatsoever on my car.
