Title: Remap- what to look for
Post by: Rustybear on February 07, 2012, 08:24:08 pm
Driving the car I am really thinking it has had a remap. Having had a 225tt and remapped it the golf feels as quick if not quicker. Now, no paper work came with the car saying that it has and the last owner says no, however, he was a VW mechanic so could it have been done in house as it were? Any signs I should look out for or notice to see if it has been remapped? Not complaining just wondering!!!!

Remaps are meant to be undetectible.... perhaps try running your car infront of a known standard car and see how you pull away...

Find a local tuner and ask them, a quick read of the ECU and comparison of the checksum will tell you if its stock or not.
