Hi Guys,
My name's Dan, been a VAG owner for a few years having quite a few cars so far, enjoy them while I can!
My most recent car was a 2.0TDI Audi A3 S-Line as I thought I'd be travelling a lot more with a new job but it turns out I've stayed in my current job so work is only about 6 miles for me.
I played about with the A3 for a bit, had a remap and spacers etc but there was nothing else I fancied doing it. It wasn't sporty enough for me to be honest and the only other mod I wanted to do was the LED Bi-Xenons, but at nearly £1k just for the parts and new MOT laws, I didn't bother. I had a bit of finance on the Audi and wanted to pay it off so I went on the search for a new car. Test drove BMWs, Minis etc and decided that no matter what life will bring, I'll always have a Seat.
I test drove an Ibiza Cupra but couldn't get on with it so went back to the Leon. I originally looked at the PD170 like I had before (miss my black 550 far too much) and with it only being a short distance to work, I'd have DPF troubles before long. So I settled on another Cupra thus paying off the majority of my finance and leaving me free to do as I please.
So without further ado, here she is. Possibly the most specced out Leon I've had to date!
The car's on a 07 plate with only 35k on the clock, full Seat service history and better still from my local garage. Standard items include;
Rainsensor,
Auto lights,
Sunroof,
Parking sensors,
Bluetooth,
Auto Dim interior mirror,
And all the standard Leon goodies like powerfold mirrors, Bi-Xenons etc.
I'm very pleased with the car, dealer offered a full tank of fuel and the gloss black grill and the deal was done.....the next day I was ordering parts haha.

Then bought some of these;

Which looked like this;

Then this;

Also some of these which will be going on next week :)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0024.jpg&hash=2a12ec992ebe7eead7c8325cb835358f40b34c83)
and one of these which I missed from my Audi;
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0041.jpg&hash=7877e353a26dd0fd60bce76c64b1efd71b6007b9)
Gave the rather tired looking pedals a good clean, although they could do with being replaced as they're seriously scratched!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0043.jpg&hash=f825e26a5550b4ff1dbae624e82a606c1ef3cc2b)

Awesome spec Danny :happy2:
Welcome to the mad house by the way :signLOL:
Haha thanks Mike :) Looks like a much more livelier forum!
-
So that's how she stands at the mo!
Spacers will be on next week, and hopefully yellow calipers.
Had a good read tonight and also next week, I'll have a look at my cam follower and probably replace the PCV valve as I think it maybe the issue to my jerkyness when cold, unless the dealer does it before me :P
-
Hi Dan, nice to see you back in a Cupra again! The new one looks a beauty with a really good spec. Hopefully this one will stay with you longer than 6 months!
-
Cheers Andy! Yeah, this will be staying due to the GF having her way with a house this year! Best get all the mods done first! haha
-
More modding today :D
First up, this idea I stole from Mike (TFSI_Mike) :D Think it's brilliant, would have never thought to put it there but glad I did as it suits the black headlining very well!
The wire is all hidden behind the plastics etc but need to plump it in this week from the fuse box;
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0088.jpg&hash=b9acdb906cffb3d500e0e2847a23b3d1d30989da)

Next up was one of these trusty ol' things....extra 10bhp I heard ;) Yellow to match my theme;
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0091.jpg&hash=4bf2b3431280810c898a27dd49f37bc3fb30cded)

Didn't get round to removing the dealer sticker, but I will this week :)
Then decided to have a play with some vinyl, now I'm not the greatest when it comes to vinyl.....which is why I'm gonna spray it haha, doesn't look too bad for now :)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0093.jpg&hash=1fc29f36a4d12351c159cea1c25cd03dd83a2ae3)

Good work Danny
Im goin to put a switch in I think next to the headlight switch so I don't hammer the battery of the Nav.
-
Cheers Mike, how have you actually wired the charger? I was gonna wire another 12v socket to the fuse panel?

I wired (Soldered) a female 12v Socket into the fuse compartment so I didnt have to solder onto or butcher the Tom Tom plug.
-
Ok cheers Mike, I'll have a look when I get the car back.
Did you wire it to a socket that had a fuse in it? that's what I'll do I think.
-
I went into a spare switched slot using an inline fuse holder on the live + wire :happy2:
-
Thanks fella :)
Btw, have you ever been pulled for having your plate in the window? Makes the car look mean as ;)
-
Ran it like that when I lived in Germany, daren't here lol, but I know people that do

Update time;
These were a little unexpected today, but needed to be done, so without further a-do and £200 lighter;
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0111.jpg&hash=21e8491d8bd738b101a5b8db603770fecf9fe9d4)
New front discs and pads, weird that my car didn't have the brake wear connector for some reason? Anyway, hell of an improvement over what it was like before! The 345mm calipers a p*ss easy to get off, then 2 large bolts for the carriers and then a good old wack with a rubber mallet and the disc was off, took about 1:30hours to do both sides :)
Then these went on;
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0109.jpg&hash=cf9a426b2bfefe3e86a027db6a7fce1468dd4618)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0110.jpg&hash=889bde60cd310c6607bb5c5dd8a8df439f792545)
10mm front and 13mm rear, H+R, had them on my Audi. I think that they are brilliant quality for what they are! I was admiring them today while cleaning them up for fitment on the Leon and can understand why they cost a few bob :)
And for tomorrow is this;
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0108.jpg&hash=12b5df4c60c3ea6a930a1ebb7de21a6d74866ea1)
Because the car currently looks like this :sad1:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0107.jpg&hash=70c4789c79c59d868a08779796c2809f08384c43)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0105.jpg&hash=27be6117ddd5ba723140262192cd023c025deeb9)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0106.jpg&hash=01846e569bfacbb3bbcd429b235e9a143e35ba99)
So, now I have a full day to myself tomorrow, plan is;
Get the car jet washed including the wheel arches and use karcher foam wash,
Wash the car using 2 bucket method,
Rinse,
Get to work on the alloys and brake calipers,
Clay bar,
Wax,
Polish
And then we should be good to go for pictures, also need to get my front S badge painted tomorrow :)
-
I don't have a wear sensor either :confused:

Right, following on from yesterday's post;
Yellow Lamin-X side repeaters;
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0121.jpg&hash=7e2ecd59ca33be20365ec145597c7187fb47882a)
H+R spacers, these were the rear 13mm, mostly cleaned up :)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0119.jpg&hash=54b39e22c5a3feefe9c340669399591bf9544c92)
Quick snap of the new front discs, also used plenty of products to clean up my calipers, but I will do these yellow eventually;
The front's also have 10mm H+R spacers on.
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0120.jpg&hash=3505a556b35af43c4208c256e2ae8df7149ce702)
And after nearly a full day of detailing....I'm let down by my iPhone camera.
It really doesn't do the pictures justice, the red is lovely and deep now, also the dirt build up in the arches has all gone.
Car was jet washed, foamed, washed with 2 bucket method, clay barred, waxed and then polished :) Only thing I haven't done is sort the wheels, as they need sealing but chances are, they'll be glass black in a few months anyway :)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0122.jpg&hash=ebc450bfb151e10f4dc2e85f0c1b0f6465fa5792)
And the arty farty shot :)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj130%2Fdannyisace%2FIMG_0124.jpg&hash=bb2dd25bb4dfd07504dd45a6a3648630672ee1fd)
