Crikey, just seen the prices of the new ED35 :surprised:
Has anyone taken one for a test drive and confirm it's worth the price tag?
Is this a natural progression from the ED30 as these cars get older?
I'm already dreaming about what my next car maybe once my current Eddie is ready for a change and I do like the look and performance figures over the std GTi Mk6.
Anyone considering the purchase of the ED35?
-
I reckon very few folks will be taking the plunge and buying one of these brand new given the current climate.
-
mines now at the dealers so fingers crossed should be popping in to see it tomorrow before picking it up in march

What are you driving now, did you swap an ED30?
Just wondered what the difference is over the 30 and if it's really worth the money?
Congrats on the purchase anyway, I definately think the 35 will be top of my list when it comes to change
-
Trouble i see with the ED35 over the ED30 is that it is not a "Limited" Edition and the new price is too much , especially in this present climate. There is a demonstrator at Wolsey VW Ipswich where i shall have a look/drive . Did they ever have a Demo ED30 ?

i currently have a Scirocco GT but wifey's daily is a GTI Pirelli
the fewer they sell the better, unfortunately i had to get over the fact that they hadn't made ED30s and Pirellis for 3-4 years and move on

Are they really that more expensive than the Edition 30 was when new?

From what I can see Edition 30s started at about £22.5k and Edition 35s start at about £27.5k.

For a Golf . . . . I trust it is fully loaded from the off . . . :sad1:

I'm sure that taking inflation into account that isn't a massive increase. After all, cars never get cheaper do they.
-
To put it into perspective if I ordered my current rocco now it would cost me £4k more than I paid 3 years ago, VAT rises and week sterling not helped
-
OK, spec seems reasonable - xenons now standard is good - but still poverty spec radio, I would have expected RCD510 as standard.
And, doh, I forgot about the VAT too.
But I can't really agree with 'inflation' - yes, I accept that inflation in general is real - but that generally includes fuel and foodstuffs, not really high value consumer goods like cars. VAT combined with inflation does not make a £5k increase!
Anyway, where are the pics? :P

Yep that's my thoughts, as much as I love my ED30 it's 5 yrs old this year so plan on keeping for maybe another 12 months, I just hope the ED35's are a bit more sensibly priced for a year old example
Let us know how the ED35 goes once you get your hands on it and how it compares to the Pirelli :happy2:

Nice colour, like the colour of the wheels too :happy2:

Looks nice. Standard alloys much better than the 19'' options, they look like cheap & nasty.

I will second that. Glad you didn't opt for the so called 'upgraded alloys'.
