Title: flipmyflippers 2005 GT TDi
Post by: flipmyflipper on February 10, 2012, 12:57:38 am
Hi Folks,
Heres a couple of pics of my MK5 with it's newly fitted 18" BBS Speedline alloys (reps) and Eibach Sportline springs.
Really pleased with the drop and it has improved the handling without being to harsh. Next mods are the GTi side skirts and maybe the R32/Ed 30 rear lights.
Cheers GLENN

Nice looking car that. Mate has a set of the same wheels waiting to go on. They are very nice.

Thanks guys.

Brad I bought the springs 2nd hand and believe they were for a 50mm drop on standard and 35mm on GTi/GT TDi etc. I measured the arches before and after fitting and I would say it has dropped the whole car about 40mm.

Nice car man.  Is the back sitting lower or is it because it's parked on a slight decline?

Noticed any rubbing or knocks going over speed humps or any other issues?

Lovely looking car fella! the side view looks awesome... Anthracite colour wheels would make the car looks so stealthy.

No issues at all with speed bumps or rubbing on arches

Cheers mate and yes I agree anthracite wheels would look fantastic. Maybe in the future if they need refurbing I may get them done like that.

Excellent wheels Glenn  :happy2:

You're probably the only person I've seen that has pulled off a good look with the 18x7.5 Audi/Speedline splits on a MK5.
I tried them and it just didn't work, they looked too small on my Steel grey 3 door with springs.

Suits yours very well. Nice stance and black paintwork are probably what does it  Maybe some spacers on the rear and you're sorted?

Thanks very much Pete  :happy2: It's funny you should mention about putting spacers on the rear as that had crossed my mind. My mk4 had them on the rear (pic below) and it really suited it. You never know, watch this space......
