Title: Any effects from running the car without a stereo connected?
Post by: Deako on February 10, 2012, 09:25:43 am
Hello all. Ive run cars without stereos in the past, but these were cars without complex ECUs and electronics.

I have ordered my RNS510 and now sold my RCD510. I would like to get the RCD510 posted to the buyer as soon as possible.

Are there any problems associated with running no stereo? Apart from an ugly dashboard?

I can get any faults cleared that may arise with VCDS.

On my last car (2009 civic) when I removed the stereo it caused the aux screen (air con readings etc) to deactivate  however the golf's setup is quite different and removing the stereo should not negatively affect the functions of any other equipment.

Nothing you'll notice. As said if you did a scan, would just give a stereo not found or entertainment system communication error
