Title: Forge WINtake Air Intake System
Post by: Felix on February 10, 2012, 12:22:32 pm
Hi.  Anyone looked at these or have one fitted? I think they are a new product and cheaper than the twintake with slightly less gains. I would like an intake that would give gains with Stage 2 revo but I just dont want too much noise, especially as I already have a full miltek non-res TBE which I am happy with. Any experiences or info on where best to buy would be welcome  :happy2:

This was discussed in another post on this forum, cant remember where it is tho!.

Forge came back and stated it was originallly meant for USA market and not available in UK, they were a little ambiguous with power claims opposed to Twintake, so I guess that means they are similar but wintake may give a few bhp less for a lot mess money  :happy2:

This is now on the Forge UK website with a "Please call" in the price section - so I assume they don't want to make it too easy to buy over the TWINTake!

Also if you read the review there is a clear suggestion that for anything below Stage 2 an intake isn't required - I really respect that honesty but pleasantly surprised. :congrats:

New panel filter then until I get more done for me!!!

In case anyone is in the market for an enclosed CAI but like me are reluctant to fork out for a VWR one (although I am sure they are very good), Forge uk are looking to release the wintake over here in a couple of months for around £250. Revo / Stasis are also developing one for the Eddy but they could not say when this would be ready or what type of CAI it was.

For those that were interested in the Forge Wintake, it looks its available now on the Forge site. I have emailed them for info and will probably buy one very soon. Will be interesting to see how it complements the TBE and map  :happy2:

Ben

Ben,

Mine made +7bhp over a standard GTI on a dyno day. My tuner (R-Tech) could also notice the extra flow from it whilst mapping my car.

Intakes can LOSE you low end power where as a panel filter doesn't.

Not a bad purchase for £35
