Title: I've bit the bullet and got Winter Tyres - Review
Post by: vRS Carl on February 10, 2012, 04:50:31 pm
Well after the recent spate of bad weather and the fact that everyone keeps banging on about how good winter tyres are because they can still drive everywhere at 40mph instead of 30mph! I decided to get some.

Now i have done my research on this and found that Goodyear have recently released a new winter tyre. Since the release of these tyres the internet has been inundated with one review!! This is what was said:

They are awesome and you can't buy a better Winter tyre!

So today i had them fitted. Since then the car has been stationary and, just to prove how good they are, the car hasn't moved an inch whilst parked up outside despite all the snow and ice on the ground! Now i have the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 for normal use but on seeing these i immediately knew they would be good as they are keeping with the Goodyear "bird" theme and here they are:

All in all i'm pretty pleased with them. I can't understand why i have been adjusting my driving style and driving more carefully and slower when it's winter when all along i have just needed some Goodyear Snow Owl winter tyres.

I don't normally do this but i am happy on this occasion to admit i was wrong and am now a convert to using Winter Tyres.

 :signLOL: love it

If my marangoni meteo HP tyres were called marangoni 'snow badger' HP they would undoubtedly be a LOT faster

I bought cheap hankook winters and they were an improvement last year. I've only had about 2mm of snow where I live so they seemed pointless this year

They are not snow tyres though??  :P

They have been fine for me and we have had a fair bit of snow the past couple of days. Mine are the asymmetric 2's though.

Sorry i mean Snow Owl's :signLOL:

Look at the way the snow owls skim the surface,

See they even save money on fuel and tyre wear due to virtually no friction :happy2:
