Got a 58 Golf Match TDI. It came with an iPod connector in the armrest.
I've tried my iPhone 4S, girlfriend's 3G, old iPods and everything. Nothing works. I'm wondering if it's just knackered or has a blown fuse or something?
Odd thing is for each one it says "Connected Accessory but not charging " (or something to that effect). Yet none of the playlists are appearing.
Know where I'm going wrong?

Good question! I have just picked up my 2008 Golf GT with iPod dock in armrest and nothing happens when I put the iPod on it? I will keep an eye on this thread.

Some of the newer ipod touch and iphones use a different voltage to charge the device which is maybe why it says it is plugged in but not charging. There are adaptors you can buy on ebay to allow them to charge but are quite bulky and then might not fit.
As to why the playlists are not working, I'm sure someone will be along soon to advise on that :happy2:
-
you won't get track titles, the ipod adaptor can only access 6 folders and treats them like a 6cd changer.
-
I'm aware of all of this however I literally receive no feedback now. I plugged in the iPhone last night and it didn't even prompt me with "accessory attached". Prior to that it did but I click 'CD' and no playlists appear i.e. says 'NO CD' rather than 'CD1'...
I tried to find the fuse location in the manual but nothing materialised.

I think the general feeling is that the ipod connection is crap. I tried mine with two of the recomended devices from the VW manual and still no luck.

I pretty much agree here. Might have to pay a visit to my VW dealer and yell at them. Joke of a product. Are they easy to remove? Might be able to get a few pence for it on eBay.

I've got one of the "connects2" ipod leads, works really well with my iPhone :notworthy:

I have an Ipod connector in the glove box. When i plug the ipod in it says "Connected Accessory but not charging'' but it then displays 6cd's to choose from.
Sometimes mine takes a few moments to work, may just need leving for 20-30seconds so it works out what its doing lol

If it's the older connector/ newer ipod issue, read this:
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,27431.msg351967.html#msg351967
You get six playlists, but you'll need to remember which is which.

Hi all,
I bought a few weeks ago a used Golf 207 Match 1.9TDI. There is an iPod connector in the armrest but the dealer told me it does not work with this model. Indeed, it does not work at the moment but is it supposed to work? Is there anything I can do to make it work?
Thanks in advance for your help guys,
Christophe
