Title: Motorbike owners...
Post by: PDT on February 12, 2012, 04:05:26 pm
Is it normal to get your bike out of the shed, start up and stand next to it snapping the throttle open and closed, up and down the revs constantly for 10-15 mins? Guy next door does this EVERY Sunday at 3-4pm.

Then puts it away until next week. Only seen him actually ride it twice in 6 years.

I do both of mine about once a week, keeps the battery fresh through the winter.

They've been up on the paddock stands since October, waiting for the weather to improve a bit

Yep thats normal behaviour for Bikers.
Especially when you have a nice big V-Twin like my VTR1000sp2 I used to own.
With a nice set of Akropovic Cans and Titanium headers
My neighbours used to love me when I was on earlies!

Tell him to get an Optimate trickle charger and that should keep him quiet.
Alternatively buy a Honda,I used to put mine away in October and never go near it till April.
You meet the nicest people on a Honda or so they used to say!!!!!

I agree. I had a 600 Hornet for a few years and that would stand over winter and never started till spring but would always start. The Speed Triple I have now though eats the battery with it having an alarm so its on an optimate in the house.
