The female plug with 3 wires going into it that is connected to the MAF is broken The clip does not work and I just wondered that this being loose would cause the exhaust emission light to come on?
If so is it an easy fix to get a new plug.

Yes, if either contact loses connection it is likely to put em light on. You can buy all bosch connectors relatively cheaply if required

Can you point me in the right direction for plug.
Car goes to main dealer on Wednesday for recall on coilpacks (never been done) should I get the stealers to do it for me or will they charge an arm and a leg!

Judging by recent posts on here dealers are struggling to bleed brakes properly and cant even handle an oil change correctly. A local independant should only charge a fw quid to fit a new plug, all you need to do is remove pins using a pin extractor and slide the pins into the new plug. Sort of thing we do for a fiver.
Dealers will probably ask for 1/2 hour labour.

Thats what I was thinking, will get the coil packs done at the dealer and get servicing done at my local friendly garage who does not charge extortionate rates!

Thanks for the link but I can't see the one I need. One on the car is a five pin, however it only has 3 wires, right to left, yellow, brown, black, 4 and 5 are blanked off.

Give them a call, they will point you in the right direction for a replacement plug.
