Title: Xenons like eggshells??
Post by: galaxie500 on February 13, 2012, 11:19:31 am
I'm trying to upgrade my Ed 30's headlamps to Xenon and have now bought 2 sets through forum members that have never reached me as they've been broken in the dispatch process. I'm getting my money back but it begs the question why are the units so fragile?? Are the Xenons more delicate than the Halogen units?  The Xenon mounting brackets seem to be very delicate and although there's a repair kit for the mounting lugs some of the units advertised appear beyond repair.
Any ideas guys??

Sounds like people are not boxing them up properly. Not having much luck with this xenon malarky are you? :stupid:

theres no such thing as 'beyond repair'  :innocent:

can you share some pictures of the broken mountings? i was using my old hella headlights with one of them having had all three mounting brackets snapped off and repaired properly using the repair kit and the other had 2 brackets replaced (Golf had a disagreement with arse end of a caravan...) and the mountings are still holding up quite well...

Both sellers have very honestly stated there had been a breakage and one offered a discount on the sale but as I've not seen the units and can't rely on the pics I've had my money refunded in both cases.
Wondering if I'll ever find any!!
