Title: Max power ED30 engine.

What is the max power the engine can take ?

I see Johnnyc pushed out over 400hp on a GT30, im guessing your playing with fire over 400hp?

Then i hear that over 360hp is pushing it... ?

As far as I know a guy from Romania managed 420bhp on a K04 Golf GTI.
I know a few guys going above 360 on K04 :).

I have heard the limits are closer to 450/450 but its playing with fire close to those numbers.

It all depends on the map that's on the car, to much torque low down kills the conrods.  :smiley:

Not sure what my plans are now  :sad1:  will have to price them up before something sh*ts itself

Don't worry Mike, i was referring to the AXX/BWA conrods. As you know i have just fitted the BWJ engine in my gti and are aiming at 450bhp before i would consider changing conrods, i had 354bhp on my AXX conrods no trouble, ( we have checked the AXX conrods and they are still fine) .
A mate's BWA Leon ran just below 400bhp/app. 550NM of torque with water/meth and he bent one conrod, so still 3 left  :grin:

What spec / hardware do you planning Jake? PM if it's hush for now  :smiley:

Just spotted this thread, got me a little worried now as I have no idea what my power/torque levels are across the rev range! :scared:
